i wasn't exclusively referring to the US....but healthcare seems to be going that way as it has almost everywhere else.

Okay, just trying to be clear. It would depend on what your device converted the CO2 into. Chocolate would be good, or caviar. Or gold.

artificial super-speed photosynthesising machine (GM biology) CO2 + water +light = glucose + oxygen + water.- no nasty waste products

glucose has many applications, as does oxygen, and water....plus it's good for the environment.

opportunity for industry to make extra money on it's CO2 emissions- by selling glucose and oxygen

oxygen could be bottled for medical or other uses.

glucose- fermented to make fuel? used as sweetner? energy food to the masses? or another idea was to invent GM meat growing- you know without animals needing to be conscious...just growing meat...with glucose being one of the feeding products...more efficient than eating starch too...

sorry that was totally off topic...but i had to tell you my ideas to reverse the effects of excess C02 and world hunger...

an NHS needs to be backed with coercive responsibility. IF you see the effects of smoking, obesity and binge-drinking/alcohol consumption on the NHS here in the UK, you can only draw the conclusion that people with a claim to the right of healthcare should equally claim fair use of the system....that's what this collectivism stuff is al about isn't it? Sacrifice to the others for the common good?

we only got the reforms we got through legislative trickery. NHS wasnt in the cards no matter what the president might have tried in order to get it through congress.

I am almost positive that the debt of the US has almost doubled during his presidency. I don't blame it all on him however. When people are scared they look for somebody to blame. They want to have somebody to be angry at and to make responsible. Its just how people are. I like the president and don't have any major disagreements. And as far as the economy goes, well that's capitalism for you. Good times and bad thats the beauty of it. You just have to make smart decisions and not be stupid.

conflation. i said people who work deserve their money, and people who don't work don't deserve anything.

The market and reality has ways of making rich people without an income poor, the rate of this depending on their degree of expenditure, and their savings account interest....mind you if they are that rich and dodgy they'd hold swiss bank accounts...and i'm not sure you get interest from a swiss bank...
