In all honesty the apprehension is very western biased. Outside of the Western World most people don't give two fucks.

In the Indosphere (South Asia, Greater India), the swastika remains ubiquitous as a symbol of wealth and good fortune. In India and Nepal, electoral ballot papers are stamped with a round swastika-like pattern (to ensure that the accidental ink imprint on the other side of a folded ballot paper can be correctly identified as such). Many businesses and other organisations, such as the Ahmedabad Stock Exchange and the Nepal Chamber of Commerce, use the swastika in their logos. The red swastika was suggested as a future emblem of International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement in India and Sri Lanka.

Japanese maps use the swastika symbol to denote a Buddhist temple.[97] Hirosaki City in Aomori Prefecture uses this symbol as official emblem. In Korea and Taiwan, maps use the swastika symbol to denote a temple. The swastika is also a very common sight at both rural and urban Buddhist Temples.

In 2005, authorities in Tajikistan called for the widespread adoption of the swastika as a national symbol. President Emomali Rahmonov declared the swastika an Aryan symbol and 2006 to be "the year of Aryan culture," which would be a time to "study and popularize Aryan contributions to the history of the world civilization, raise a new generation (of Tajiks) with the spirit of national self-determination, and develop deeper ties with other ethnicities and cultures."

etc... etc...

It's a cool symbol. I'm sorry the Nazis used it that way.

Ballsy avatar you have there. Also I am amazed that you got through with it. You're using the black sun which was the symbol used by the SS high command and arguably the most important and senior symbol in SS nazi mysticism. Each line represented one of the SS Generals. The symbol of the Black Sun unites the three most important symbols of Nazi ideology - the sun wheel, the swastika and the stylized victory rune." and that it is symbolic in its form representing "the twelve SS Knights of The Order of the Death's Head and their three retainers."

As a gay Jewish person, I have trouble accepting it even that much, but the Nazis f-ed up a lot of perfectly innocent things.

So you would rail and bitch against a Tajik wearing a necklace with a golden swastika?

No. I don't like the symbol, but unless you're using it to promote Nazi ideals, it's just a symbol.

The dark sun is another sun wheel symbol that the Nazis adopted. My usage is only for it's value as a pagan symbol and not because it was adopted by the SS.

I wasn't implying otherwise. However using a symbol for it's pagan value doesn't stop the SS runes, totenkopf or the swastika from being banned from avatars. I am just surprised they let you through with your avatar considering that it was the symbol the SS Generals and the entire 12 SS Knights mysticism that Himmler built up. It seems kind of odd to ban the symbol worn by mere soldiers/conscripts (Totenkopf/SS runes) but allow the symbol of the SS leaders such as Himmler who actually carried out and organized the entire holocaust, or in Himmlers case be the main man responsible behind the entire holocaust.

I think the swastika should be unbanned for two reasons.
1. It is a religious symbol for cultures throughout the world.
2. For the sake of realistic roleplaying. We shouldn't have to resort to using iron crosses(Nazi Ohio) and flowers that sort of look like swastikas(Nazi Flower Power).

I think that every summer some teenager finds out the origins of the symbol and then acts like they were the first to ever hear about it while they pretend to give a shit about the symbols of religions and cultures they barely understand so they can talk about nazis.
