So I suppose this thread could be considered one about courtship and relationships. What are your opinions and experiences, are there things you do that you wonder are common for others or not? Do you think there is some kind of set of rules? Would you have sex on a first date? Before the first date? Before marriage? Why or why or why not, et all & etc.

I'll open with the topic of sex before marriage, why or why not?

Myself yes I would (and do) have sex before marriage for many reasons, you wouldn't buy a car without a test drive would you? The most prominent being I'm not even sure I ever will be married - to me its not a priority thing I don't need a license to tell people I'm in love and live in the same home with them; I'm also not a fan of the religious aspect of the whole thing regardless of if or when it became important at all. There is also the fact that I consider sexual compatibility to be an important factor in a relationship, you are devoting a lot of time and energy to a single person and in making a long term commitment you should ensure its one that is mutually emotionally and physically gratifying.

I advocate sex before marriage, so you know what it's like. However, I don't mind if others wish to wait to have sex after they marry.

Being slightly buzzed helps, in my experience, if one happens to by the shy type, get too sloshed and you just come off as a bit of a dolt, and possibly a drunkard.

Nothing I can think of... I don't particularly care whats common for others, I know what I'd like, its the finding it which is difficult.

Well, I don't find it particularly important to have gone on an official date with someone, so long as I know them well and I think they feel the same way I do, sex is a great way to kick off a relationship.
