For just about any gay, it sucks when a guy you crush on is straight (as is usually the case). So him having a girlfriend makes it worse. I personally am not the really jealous type, but if there were someone I truly liked and he had a girlfriend, I'd probably be jealous too.

... You know, I've been bi for two years now, and when it occurred to me that men are damn hot it didn't actually bother me in the least. I mean, sure, when I was a child I thought "gay is bad (because I heard it's weird)", but by seventh grade I decided not to care. I was a straight guy defending gays (which was important, otherwise my argument would lose impact).

I had gay episodes now and then, but they kept being over in a week, so I chalked it up to curiosity. By the time I turned sixteen my own realization was a simple statement of "wait a second, that's hot".

And I'm damn proud of that.

However, stereotypes irk me to no end (even the somewhat true ones), regardless of whatever they refer to anywhere. So, where gay stereotypes were annoying beforehand, they were positively insufferable afterwards. Relevant rants:

1) Not all homosexuals prefer the opposite gender role. Some like being the gender they are, they just happen to also like the gender itself.

... That said, simply because I'm so masculine I'm going to start proclaiming things "FABULOUS" around my friends to see how they act.

2) I would set up a defense for transsexuals here, but despite my passion on the subject I just can't form a satisfactory statement. Suffice to say that, as before my realization, I'm not one of them, but I'll defend them to the death.

3) Not all people who defend gays are, in fact, gay.

4) Promiscuity is not a purely gay occurrence. Straights are expected to act that way, so why are we wrong when we do? And why is that generalized to all of us? (They probably just can't take a compliment)

5) Not only are you no more or less likely to catch an STD from a homosexual; it's apparently more common among heteros, and most gays actually do use protection (with pretty good reasons).

6) A while back, my friend cautioned me against being gay because "there aren't any gay old men" and something about AIDS. He's much more open-minded now, but that was just brain-meltingly incorrect. Admittedly, however, it's almost impossible to argue with without opening links you vowed never to voluntarily open.

7) While I don't understand how worked up people get over sexuality, I do understand why they'd keep it secret. I mean, there's a reason I could probably count the amount of people I've told personally over two-and-a-half years and three hands...
Not that that part bothers me anyway; I live in southern Illinois (which believes itself to be North Texas), and I didn't get along with my 'peers' very well to begin with.

8) You can't argue that "sex is for reproduction" unless you do everything from a spartan, monastic point of view. If Nature is the pinnacle, then nothing unnatural is proper. Why is reproduction different from eating? They're both intrinsic qualities possessed by animal life. (This is my favorite)

If any part of that seemed incoherent or substandard, know that It's 9:30 and I wake up at 5:00 every weekday (for no particular reason). Know also that I'm trying to meditate until my mind sharpens to a point, and for reasonably-evident reasons that's exhausting. It's paying off, though. I'm already reading at twice the rate I was yesterday (and the days before that, mind you).

EDIT: I believe some universities prolly have them as well. At any rate, they are most useful in highschools I would guess.

Well it really depends on where you are in the world...Lets say we are talking USA, it is almost like a mini-world; only Americanized. You have New England, where the programs do very well and you have the west coast where the programs do well depending on the poverty level in your region (poor people are angry people). Than you have the south where the programs are not so awesome...I blame the evancrazies. Then the middle of the country is sort of a hit or miss, its like your in NE, the west coast and the south at the same time!
