That is just immensely scary, to me. That such a quake on the other side of the world can throw the earth off it's axis. Even if it's just 4 inches.

Wow. I mean if they were Korean they might have something to bitch about but Pearl Harbor was nothing compare to the repeated firebombing of Tokyo and the two atomic bombs dropped.

No, they make themselves look bad, as they seem to forget that the US dropped two atomic bombs on Japan. Inasmuch as there can be such a thing as "payback" in a war, I suspect that would qualify.

We have two companies of Marines running rampant all over the northern half of this island, and three Army regiments pinned down in the southwestern corner, doing nothing. What the hell is going on?

I think the Japanese weren't particularly nice to any of their neighbours during the second world war. That's still long enough ago that none of the people presently living in Japan had anything at all to do with it.

I don't say there aren't worse comments. I haven't seen any cropping up on my facebook news feed. If anything like this did, I'd be short a few facebook "friends".

Honestly, I see so much news everyday about Americans and it just makes me wonder how the country keeps itself upright. It must just be better media and a large population, but honestly. Every single day. There's not a single day in which I don't ask myself how Americans are so retarded. And each day I wonder if the stereotype is true.

Then, of course, I remember how many intelligent Americans I know who are all smarter than me or as smart and how the nation keeps moving forward. But honestly, :palm: . This is all I can say.

I put on Fox News and I see them talking about what a substantial boost this will be to the Japanese economy and how Japan's economy should show massive increases thanks to this tsunami and earthquake.

probably the most annoying thing is geography, for example I was talking to a guy on ArmA and he asked where I was from, I said New Zealand and he replied "Is that in florida". I do have to admit that I got a bit harsh saying something along the lines of "you know the world is not made up of the fucking US, it is a good damn thing we kicked your imperialistic naval ships out".

They've got a relative point (I can't believe I'm saying this about Fox News.)
You'll have insurance and donation money flooding in, which will purchase heavy equipment and building material, besides mass recycling of debris and rebuilding of infrastructure; plus new technology will be installed to mitigate the effects of a quake further.
