Hmm. As opposed to just covering their mouth with their hand?

Karma sure is fucking slow.

Reminds me of a fun bit of verbal trolling I pulled on someone a few decades back.

In the course of a conversation, this person asked what the Ghost Dance was. "Essentially," someone else in the discussion answered, "It was a giant quasi-religious magical ritual aimed at bringing the buffalo back and making the wasi'chu (derogatory term for 'white man' - literally, 'greedy ones') disappear."

At this point, my mark - an Irish-American Wiccan, BTW (and a descendant of Buffalo Bill, ironically enough), wisecracked smugly: "Doesn't look like their magical ritual worked all that well, did it?"

In my best wistful, contemplative style, I mused, "You know, magic like that - a ritual that big - might take many years to come to fulfillment. Maybe even a century..."

The Wiccan mark's eyes went wide and she blanched. "And these rituals were..."

"Oh, a little more than a century ago," I said quietly.

<wide evil grin>

That may be a case of taking a number and waiting in line. After all, I hear the buffalo are making a comeback.

I don't know. We would have to proportionally increase the quake/tsunami by the combined difference of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, compared to Pearl Harbor.

In which case, the US, will seize to exist. Canada is damn close.

We have two companies of Marines running rampant all over the northern half of this island, and three Army regiments pinned down in the southwestern corner, doing nothing. What the hell is going on?

Which pretty much requires Yellowstone going off. And that is going to be ugly.

That is going to suck, especially once decay sets in. The only way that could possibly be worse is if somehow they all get up.

Have you heard of the 'silent majority'? That's how most Christians (like me) behave: By keeping our damn mouths shut and simply being good people. Many people have subverted Christianity into a horrible cult-like anger machine, which is to be expected of any mainstream religion. Simply don't give the crazies credence (or gun licenses) and the problem is solved.

Yup. I must say I am almost inclined to actually give her a call, but judging by the amount of [+1's] on her phone number, she's probably already either 1) turned her phone off forever, or 2) changed her number and/or name.

I don't hate any person, or group of people for that matter, but what I don't approve of is the religion itself. There is a distinct difference; my mother, for instance, is a practicing Protestant, and I love and respect her very much. What I do not love is her belief system in regards to religion.

I apologize if you were offended by my statements, which admittedly were partially driven by anger from watching that horrendous video-blog, but I will not back down with my disapproval of religion.
