Dyakovo seemed to have implied that prominent Republicans had called for the assassination of Democrats. I'm pointing out that neither group has done so, and therefore there is no hypocrisy in either side trying to call the other out. What is the crosshair thing guilty of, other than being stupid. There is nothing to suggest that Palin wanted to have these people killed, she is simply a redneck marking her map with what she knows.

As dim-witted as I think the current crop of Republicans is, you're right, no one actually pulled a Henry II and yelled, "Will no one rid me of this meddlesome Democrat?" Still, there was an awful lot of squirming on the right after the Tucson shooting.

Still looking for a call for civility. Can anyone here find one?

Payne: Obama's about-face on civility
Henry Payne / The Michigan View.com
Just two months after calling for a new civility in political discourse, top Democrats from President Obama to Rep. John Dingell continued to embrace a Wisconsin labor movement Thursday that is trafficking in the same violent rhetoric the Left once condemned.

Amid death threats to Republican senators who have voted to scale back union benefit costs, Democrats were silent on union rhetoric that included ugly posters comparing Governor Scott Walker to Hitler and chants of "Kill the Bill." Instead, Obama condemned Walker's budget and claimed that he was trying to "denigrate or vilify public employees."

The about-face on civility was in stark contrast to Democrats' use of the Rep. Gabby Giffords shooing in January to tamp down political rhetoric, encourage partisans to sit together at the State of the Union address, and even condemn Republican use of "job-killing" to describe Obamacare repeal.

Obama's media allies, too, took the gloves off as Walker's move to restore sanity to Wisconsin's budget finally passed in the legislature despite a childish insurrection by its Democratic minority.

"Republican lawmakers were set to strip nearly all collective bargaining rights from the state's public workers and deliver one of the strongest blows to the power of unions in years," screamed the unionized wire service, the Associated Press, pretending that plugging the state's gaping $137 million budget hole was a war about worker's rights.

In fact, it's about bringing unsustainable union benefits in line with the private sector - a truth that readers never learn in the AP story. Instead, AP complained that "the measure . . . requires public workers to pay more toward their pensions and double their health insurance contribution, a combination equivalent to an 8 percent pay cut for the average worker."

Welcome to Planet Earth. The unions' lavish pensions are unheard of in the private sector where the taxpayers that foot public union bills still pay more in health care co-pays.

Two months ago, the MSM huffed about the dangers of Sarah Palin using the term "target" in a political stump speech. Never mind.

"(Walker's budget) implementation would be a key victory for Republicans, many of whom have targeted unions amid efforts to slash government spending," wrote AP while ignoring Wisconsin protestors chanting "Kill the bill!"

"Scott Walker and the Republicans' ideological war on the middle class and working families is now indisputable," AP quoted Phil Neuenfeldt, president of the Wisconsin AFL-CIO, as saying.

No. Working families will no longer have to carry the heavy burden of Big Labor's unfair collective bargaining costs.

I hear that there is this thing going on in Libya, Japan, and with the Federal Budget maybe he is focusing on these more pressing matters instead focusing on squabble going on in Wisconsin. Especially, you know how Walker and the rest of the Republican leadership told him repeatedly to butt out.

edit: Hell you find me a quote of you denouncing the violent rhetoric of the Tea Party and Republicans following the threats and attacks on Democrats following the health care vote.

I'm still waiting for you to provide evidence that prominent Democrats have been using rhetoric which implies the acceptability of the use of violence against Walker. Without that there is no sense in having a call for civility since they are already being civil.

What, the President can't simply tell his Press Secretary that he doesn't like the current "heated rhetoric"? Oh, yes, that obviously requires multiple focus groups, millions of man-hours and statistics to simply say,"this is wrong."

Of course Walker and the the other Republicans weren't happy with the President, he was injecting himself into an internal state argument in their state. Do you still live with your parents and if not, do you appreciate them telling you how to manage your affairs?

Nobody deserves death threats, no matter how much of a bigoted, racist, biased, shit filled douche bag they are.
Killing people for being a part of a democracy, for upholding the views of their represented people is insane.

I could ask why this world has gone to shit, but It's pretty much always been that way.

Find me a link that shows Republicans using any visuals that Democrats haven't used, like maps of congressional districts with targets on them, that links any republican to the Gifford shooting. That was when that first bogus call for civility happened. Find me a quote of any prominent Republican endorsing the Tiller killing. Get me a link to those "attacks"

Personally, I will gladly denounce any rhetoric of the TEA Party that advocates the injury or killing of another human being. Got any quotes or images?

Well this still a state matter thus should why should Obama get involved? However, on that note why despite this being single state affair did it not stop Boehner, Palin, Gingrich, Huckabee, and every Republican candidate from getting involved?

Also, about my parents while I don't live with them I have no problem with them giving me advice about my affairs, maybe Walker should think the same.

Find me a quote of a prominent republican apologizing to the Gifford family, Tiller family, or any Democrat threatened after healthcare reform and I will be happy to find your request.

edit: Hell you find me a quote of you denouncing the violent rhetoric of the Tea Party and Republicans following the threats and attacks on Democrats following the health care vote.

Find me a link that shows Republicans using any visuals that Democrats haven't used,

Already done.

So, am I correct in assuming that you are admitting you've got nothing to show that there has been "heated rhetoric" from the Democrats?

Hey, if anyone can find a quote by a prominent domcrat and/or liberal denouncing the death threats and calling for civility, then I'll be happy.

I gave an argument against your idea. You never addressed it.

Please be kind enough to list the various arguments, and refresh my memory so that I do not have to go through all my detractors' juvenile drivel, about how there was a need for the President of the United States to call for toning down heated rhetoric at the time of a seemingly unrelated shooting by a madman (after the fact) and the lack of any kind of preventative calming in the face of current death threats.

OMG, how two-face you are. First, you don't mind at all as the President makes it his business to come in on the side of the public service unions and then you say he shouldn't involve himself with attempting to tone down heated rhetoric in the face of death threats?!?!?!

Two-face like demanding Obama leave an event alone when it benefit their side, but when it will then demanding he get involved? Also, I don't care if Obama wishes to denounce these threats at all.

Additionally, I see you forgot to comment on my Boehner, Palin, Gingrich, Huckabee, and every Republican candidate have a right to get involved state matter but not Obama or other national Democrats.

I've got death threats. Isn't that enough? Do you deny there have been death threats? I just want the President and other left leaning officials to be "pro-active" and diffuse the situation before it gets out-of-hand.
