I'm referencing the mid 70s here but what do you mean?

It ignores the massive poll lead of the Tories and massive success of labours campaign and message. The manifesto was a huge success, it wasn’t a hinderance at all.
This analysis is fine so long as you view the campaign in a vacuum, and the rise from expected electoral wipeout as something that can be replicated from the higher base and translate to certain crushing victory next time.
Why was the poll rating so low before? Systematically losing the media battle for years previously. If the Tories had a competent leader and hadn't been so massively complacent they would have won by 100+ seats. Next election the Conservatives will be prepared and turn up for the online battle. Labour will not fight the next election with nearly so open a goal.
We need to go further, and we have to squeeze the limits of legality until the pips squeak.

You can’t simultaneously claim May was the primary reason for labour doing well, and then also claim Corbyn was responsible for May doing well before the election. Anything Corbyn does well is the Tories, and anything the Tories do well is actually Corbyn. It’s ridiculous

This country is a bloody joke.
Being "edgy", like taking videos where you've trained your dog to give a Nazi salute when you give grossly antisemitic statements as triggers, shouldn't be considered a defence.
"Ironic Nazism" is just a way of flirting with Nazism when you're not comfy with just admitting you're a fucking Nazi.

Maybe they both sucked really bad, but one just sucked slightly more so their opponent won?

The same 22/23 it look like, hyper partisan Labourites seem to be the only ones thinking Corbyn responded well, and the only ones thinking May responded poorly.
It's almost like media bias is a thing...
