Are the history and culture realistic?

No. First, in 1091 Kaiser or Emperor meant the ruler of Rome. There were some exceptions, mostly outside Christiandom. Note, that Tsar in some slavic languages is translated as King.

Also, the idea that the ruler received his throne from God and not the Church, doesn't make sense in 1091. Especially troublesome is the use of the phrase "the Church" I should point out that when the Reformation actually happened, the meaning of "the Church" changed in Protestant countries to mean the state church there. It is also unlikely that the Pope would have a spat with the ruler of Scandinavia and let it go so far. The distance between Rome and Sweden are just to great for the Pope to effectively interfere. A conflict with the Bishops, yes, Pope, not so much. Also, it would be really difficult for the ideas of the conflict to be spread across the land. After all, there are still pagans, a sign that the land is not fully controlled. The King can't convert the heathens, but he can convert the Catholics?

Also, at this time is the viking age pretty much over.
