Argentina tried to grab those islands.
And so there was a war. The British set sail for those islands. The managed to land troops to the doorsteps and secure the island. Argentina was forced to sue for peace.
Remember Thatcher?
A duel has a specific meaning. You implied, perhaps unintentionally, that the president of Argentina and the Queen of England had a joust or fencing duel for the Falklands or something.
Incidentally, that would have been a lot more fun.

Indeed.
The Empire had no choice but to defend its honour once it faced insult.
If a foreign nation (Argentina), can seize one of the islands of the Lion with impunity, then the Lion is no longer a nation to be feared.
I completely understand Thatcher's decision for war. She had to call the troops.

Why are you euphemistically referring to Britain as 'the Lion'? You should really refer to it as 'the Lion and Unicorn', as the Scots Guards were deployed, and the national animal of Scotland is the Unicorn.
ALso, why are you continually using the term 'Empire', even in relation to 21st century disputes/arguments? The British Empire no longer exists.

The bitch who fucked up the entire british economy and made the poor even poorer by destroying the remain of healtcare england still had?
Who won't remember her as the horrible person she was? I mean, if you really wonder if she was "THAT" bad, just look to how people partyed in the street in Irland the day she died and that even in France, who yet had the chance to never subish the tyranny of her or one of her like, they were sales on Brasserie to celebrate her death.

The Empire was never formally dissolved, so technically, it still exists.
Also, the Falkland Islans, Gibraltar, and other islands remain under the control of the British empire.
''The Lion and the Unicorn'' is too long. The Lion has traditionally been the animal that represented the British Empire.
