I notice those who don't think it's a neurological disorder haven't provided very many sources to support their claims.

If any...

No, atheism is some kind of a disbelief in a god or multiple gods. It is not a disorder, just a non-religious belief.

Considering the amount of perfectly normal people who happen to be either atheist or theist, I'd say that neither is a disorder.

Of course.

Yeah, if you'd read your own dumb sources, you'd notice that they don't support your "theory" at all.

The article on autistics noted that the link between autism and atheist viewpoints was coincidental.

Wrong.

It's a lack of belief in any amount of deities.

Yeah, I admit my mistake there.

@OP:

It's not a neurological disorder.
Animals don't believe in any form of God so do they have a neurological disorder? Before you bring up the free will thing, every living creature has free will. There is no reason to why Atheism is a neurological disorder.

There is nothing wrong with being an atheist. I personally believe that you are just being biased.

Sorry, you are making the (rather far-fetched) claim that atheism is a neurological disorder. Burden of proof is on you.

Jesus christ. (no pun intended)
Have people stooped so low as to even consider this a question?
Of course it isn't a neurological disorder! Religion is an arbitrary practice. You aren't born with predetermined life decisions or beliefs. In no way would not believing in something be considered a disorder.
That would be like saying someone is mentally challenged for not watching Seinfeld. It's ridiculous.

Stop persecuting people for their beliefs. It's very rude.

Oh, the hypocrisy. You're the one trying to spoon-feed us the fallacious narrative that atheism is a mental disorder, and would gladly throw your support behind prenatal screenings based on a lack of religious belief, and yet you are the poor, innocent victim?

I agree with you. There is freedom of religion here. I am not part of any religion, but I still believe in the supernatural.

You have a point, but screening for beliefs, or lack thereof, is a totally abhorrent idea. Both sides should oppose this screening shit.

So by that standard, I don't qualify as a person because I'm an atheist?

As a Christian, I know full well it's a reasonable hypothesis. I once considered being atheist, nbut stayed Christian simply because well...it's the strategically better choice, objectively. If God doesn't exist then great, no people go to hell. If he does, then great, I chose to believe the right thing!
Simply put, it seems better to believe in god than to not, either way, at least when personal profit is considered.

Seriously, though. Several of your sources are biased as hell in one way or another, and you claim that you are being persecuted? Persecution is defined as "to pursue with harassing or oppressive treatment, especially because of religious or political beliefs, ethnic or racial origin, gender identity, or sexual orientation." No one here is being harassing or oppressive, therefore you are not being Persecuted. Get off your high horse already and come back down to reality with the rest of us.

kthanksbai.
