You know rootlessness is what successful people in all societies historically have. Elites have always been rootless.

People who live along the coasts have little in common with those in Middle America.
It's part of the reason why we have such a deepening cultural divide.

I was referring more to places like New York, San Francisco, Boston, and Washington DC.
Rural America is forgotten except when its useful for resource extraction or to find recruits for our dumb wars and the decayed husks of the Rust Belt are like 1990s Russia.

Rojava Free State wrote:President Donald trump made news again for all the wrong reasons yesterday after lashing out at Democratic representatives Ayanna Pressley, Alexandria Ocasio Cortez, Ilhan Omar and Rashida Talib in a usual daily tweet storm of his, which no one can control or mitigate. While trump is known for taking shots at people, his latest anger took a dark and bigotted turn when he suggested that the congresswomen not only hated America but should "go back to the countries they came from and fix them." Already as usual, the conflict pits the people who always hated trump against the people who always loved him, and there's few people on the fence. Trump doubled down on his statements and accused the freshmen congresswomen of being "racist and vile" (isn't that ironic) and demanding democrats apologize for defending them.
Now a lot of people probably are wondering my opinion on this issue, so this is where my thoughts come in. Seriously what the actual hell was he thinking when he tweeted that? Does he understand the connotation when you tell someone of a nonwhite background to "go back to where they came from and fix the corruption there?" And how are some of them supposed to go back? Rashida Talib was born in Detroit michigan. Last time I checked, despite the war zone levels of violence Detroit is very much an American city. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez was born in the Bronx and is of Puerto Rican heritage, meaning her family has been living in America technically since 1898. Ayanna Pressley is African American and her ancestors probably were brought here against their wills two hundred years before Donald's even got off the boat. Omar was born in Somalia but spent most of her life here and is a US citizen. Of course trump's most die hard fans are doubling down as well, but this isn't even dogwhistling any more in my opinion. So what are your opinions on this issue NSers? Have you heard of the latest controversy surrounding the president, one of thousands he's been involved in?

Singapore is a one city nation mate. With an extremely conservative culture, and a very diverse population. I think like 76% are immigrants or immigrant descent.

Rashida Talib has a more foul mouth than Trump and has actually advocated for violence, AOC is an airhead who won her district on an exploit and is out of touch with her district, and Ilhan Omar is a pez dispenser for antisemitism and hate against America. They are terrible people compared to Trump. So yeah. I care zero percent what Trump has to say about the lot of them. And by the way, these congresswomen have been a thorn in Nancy Pelosi's side fore the past seven months straight. Democrats don't have to agree with Trump to recognize they are batshit insane and need to be stripped of their party membership and shunned in congress.
It also makes perfect sense to suggest that people who migrated to a better country go back to their country of origin and help the people they are related to by blood, their family and extended family, and their friends and neighbors. Whatever connotations you are referring to are absolutely not racist - I have like 50% English heritage, and I would have no shame telling an English migrant who became my political rival "go back across the pond you redcoat and fix the problems with your own country". See, the left is the one obsessed with race here. Trump does this to literally all of his political opponents, regardless of their race. There are conservative politicians who are of "minority groups" as defined by the left, and you'll notice he doesn't hurl insults at them like this. Yeah, it's childish. But it's far from "bigoted"(as used incorrectly by the left), "vile", or "racist".
Look, I don't particularly like Trump. He is a pretty crass person. But if the Democrats keep on going like they have, I am going to vote for him. The economy is good, he has more tempered hand with our military than Obama did, and honestly I don't see where the idea he is racist, homophobic, etc. is coming from. The only real issues the far left should have with him are he's against socialism, against abortion, and against open borders. And frankly, those are pretty mainstream views - even some centrist Democrats agree with those.
