Ah, yes, NSG completely reflects public opinion.

Check out some of the polls on here from before the 2016 presidential election.

90% of the world probably doesn’t even know what Northumbria is.

Besides, why revive a nation that hasn’t existed in 1000 years?

I was born both on my mother’s birthday and on Easter Sunday. I also did not begin to lose my baby teeth until I was in the third grade, and my last tooth came out in the eleventh grade.

I definitely like to have fun and enjoy doing thing with my friends, but I am extremely strait-laced, though certainly not a killjoy. I am a teetotaler, a prude, and I never swear. I also am a stubborn grammar pedant, which I get from my parents, especially my mother. I am a man of simple tastes, an avowed retrophile, and I mostly enjoy spending time with my family, in which I am the most politically right-wing person.

Furthermore, I have an abnormally excellent memory, and I was classified as intellectually gifted from the age of five; I also was an early talker. I took no notes whatsoever in high school, except those required for a grade, and I did not study at all from the sixth grade to the twelfth grade, inclusive.

I was at the top of my class in every single year, and I graduated high school as the class valedictorian, even after taking mostly Advanced Placement classes. Despite this, I usually try to be modest, and this post was rather uncomfortable for me to write.

I’m a failure. A very smart failure, but a failure nonetheless. Being a smart failure is my deviation.

Fair point. Are you an archeologist though, if you don't mind me asking?

No, but I am an archaeologist.

For petty pedantry.... 'Archeologist' isn't even standard American spelling. It's used by most (but not all) of the US federal government (mainly the National Park Service), several state governments (like the Arkansas Archeological Survey), and a small number of US universities that associate it a particular theoretical movement that was prominent in the 1960s (called, not entirely appropriately 50 years on, the 'New Archaeology'). Everyone else - including the leading US-based professional societies - spells it 'archaeologist', like the rest of the world. See, for example, the Archaeological Institute of America, the Society for American Archaeology, and the Society for Historical Archaeology.

I went skinny dipping with several colleagues in a warm spring immediately after the baboon attack.

Close enough?

If you visit the Wikipedia page for the national park (then still a game reserve) where this took place close to 30 years ago, the first picture shows you where this skinny dipping took place.

I have now officially given NSG too much information.

The Wiki page says 'In 2000, Yankari National Park hosted over 20,000 tourists from over 100 countries'. I can assure you it wasn't that busy in June 1989; we were the only people there. Lots of baboons, though. Vicious little bastards.

Maybe you'd like to be chased by a troop of howling baboons while lacking any obvious means of defence?

It can be seriously dangerous.

Luckily, I was able to reach my vehicle before they reached me; but it's not something I could really recommend.

Speciest.

I once saw a bison chase a tourist through the meadows of Yellowstone park, it was a beautiful day, warm, sunny, birds chirping, the pleasant smell of the high meadow flowers. the guy went into the field about 50 feet in front of a peacefully grazing bison. His wife took a picture and for some reason the flash went off, the bison looked up, bellowed and charged, it was a beautiful spring day in the meadow, high snow covered mountains all around and a bison furiously chasing a tourist running for his life, in the mid summer sun.

Glorious day. Really has nothing to do with this thread, but put a Smile on my face reliving it.

Well...
In middle school I created my own language (kind of like a synthesis between Arabic, mandarin, and German grammatic system) and often spoke it and translated songs. In fifth grade I read Jean Paul Sartre, and wrote a short story about how jar jar binks orchestrated the rise of Palpatine.

It can be; there are many different types, divided into both acute and chronic. Mine is a chronic type.

But off-topic; can we perhaps move on from a topic which is a bit of a downer in a fun thread.

Recently the dome of the rock banned non Muslims from entrance after an especially violent clash with orthodox Jews took place on temple mount.

8) so I had a Palestinian friend of my mom pretend to be my dad and when we approached the entrance he was like "my son is visiting the dome, he is very interested in the history of islam." Lmao they let us in without even batting an eye, and I can add that accomplishment to my list

No. I'm capable of this kind of behavior while sober, which is why when I'm super drunk with my friend josh, they better quarantine off a whole town
