I think when Reagan beat Carter, that's when we started to go down a bad path. Not because Reagan was necessarily "bad" Carter necessarily "good", just the ideological switch that occurred as a result was bad for the country as a whole I think.

Well....Israel does have a history of consistently beating their enemies despite being outnumbered most of the time but, while I hardly consider myself a Hawk in the political sense, I do believe even then Israel might need help in the hypothetical case of an invasion.
