Again this is an issue for the parents. The law does not require students to attend school.

ohh, how wrong you are. a 7 year old is required to go to school. most every country has rules regulating how long a student must go to school before dropping out.

Or the student has lied about their age and has a public profile. We caught several students doing naughty things that way.

i can see no logical reason where forcing students to wear uniforms is beneficial in any way except for turning them all into the same person with no individual traits in the effort to be 'fair'.

To prevent students from being bullied because their poverty becomes glaringly obvious.

To prevent students from being bullied because their parents won't allow them to wear what is "cool".

To prevent students from wearing clothing that is offensive to their classmates.

To ensure that students are dressed appropriately and conform to workplace health and safety standards required for their activities.

If you want to make a protest form a union and have a general strike. If the school makes money to pay all the staff if you are there, then if most of the kids don't go to school they will lose money. Once the school eventually concedes to your terms you will be
1. Hated by the School and its teachers for the rest of your time there
2. You will be glorified by your classmates and they will have a never ending respect for you as a leader and an activist

1. oh right, bullying isn't the schools responsibility to deal with.
2. they can Deal with it, or attempt to reason with their parents.
3. ill dress however i damn well please. if cult x thinks only the messiah can wear the color red, hard cheese, i like red. (i dont remember the cult, but i remember this stipulation)
4. health and safety. if students want to be stupid, let them. they can cull themselves from the gene pool.

Or the student has lied about their age and has a public profile. We caught several students doing naughty things that way.

If they are in transit to or from school, the school is legally responsible for them, and therefore school rules apply. If they are using school equipment, the school is legally responsible for that, and so rules apply.

What I meant by dork.

Largely what I thought and is the case here.

The student still has to be at school. If they are under sixteen, I believe, that they aren't able to make such huge decisions themselves. If that is indeed the case than the law does require them to be at school.

That said, as Daistallia 2104 demonstrated it is possible to find definitions broad enough to include all alternatives.

Uniforms: used to identify students and for OH&S

For younger elementary/primary school kids: allows teachers to identify students quickly and easily on excursions, multi-school activities etc. Ensures students are always wearing appropriate attire for the school day.

For older secondary/high school kids: Allows the general public to identify children who should be at school in cases of truancy. allows teachers to identify students quickly and easily on excursions, multi-school activities etc. Ensures students are always wearing appropriate attire for the school day.

The point being made here, is that some students claimed that it was unfair that they were not being paid by the government to attend school, and could not speak out about the rules imposed on them by said school, because they were forced to attend that school by the government.

Home schooling, paper-only correspondence education, and distance education are all examples of education from prep to year 12 that do not require the student to attend school.

top paragraph: what? they (or at least their parents) pay the government to send them off to school. thats a ridiculous idea. i side with you so far.

bottom: they are forced to be schooled. that was my point. and since the government still tests them, they still are taught what the government wants them to be.
