I suspect Man C will get a hefty fine and a transfer ban rather than a hefty points reduction. The problem is that it's a huge operation, thousands of jobs rely on them, and to drop them down a couple of leagues.. they don't have the base support of, say, Rangers, who could take dropping but keep their fanbase.

If they were to be dropped, it's jobs lost, it's fans lost, players lost, it's a costly stadium they can't afford to maintain.. the repercussions would be huge.

They certainly deserve severe punishment, but whether it pans out that way, I'm not sure.

Except that's actually punishment for City.

Fines are a slap on the wrist when you're making money hand over fist in the PL, a transfer ban is a temporary inconvenience, when it blows over you've still got star players and a fancy stadium, in the long run breaking the rules paid off.

If all your fans jump off the bandwagon just because you've been demoted a division or two, sucks to be you, maybe you should've followed the rules.
