I recognize that I am being hypocritical.

However, if Russian "soldiers" didn't want to be on the receiving end of violations of the Geneva Conventions, then they should not have tossed the first stone and committed those war crimes in the first place.

So long as we don't take revenge against all Russians, and so long as we're not too disproportionate, then it's all fair game.

Ever heard of “under duress”? Well it applies here. If they condemn it it’s effectively a death sentence both in reality and figuratively.

If any Russian troops condemn the actions they effectively have to leave Russia for good because they will be branded a traitor and won’t be able to obtain any employment. Not to mention being shunned by their family and friends.

It is better to be branded as a traitor to my own country than to commit crimes against humanity.

My thoughts exactly. You never really know how someone would react in such a situation until they are actually there.

The best you can do is make people know that there are consequences for choosing the morally reprehensible action in that situation, but even that is an imperfect tool- and a useless barometer.

And we're barely even talking about "in the face of evil". Luziyca is demanding acts of dramatic heroism, on pain of death, from soldiers who were hundreds of miles away from Bucha when the massacre happened.
