I don't know if I can post the video, but there is video of what I believe is a Russian tank firing on a car for seemingly no reason. From what I have heard the pepole inside were an elderly couple. The video shows that both the tank and car were apporaching an intersection with the car stopping to give way to the tank. But then the tank fired destroying the car.

I follow the situation in this war quite carefully, mostly preferring eyewitness videos, military reports from the fronts, as well as reports from the Ministries of Defense of both countries. I have many sources, but nothing unique, although in any case, as a native Russian speaker, I will get much more information about this war than you, simply because I understand the eyewitnesses and know where they can broadcast.

Let me clarify a few important points to get you up to speed:

1. Western sanctions will most likely not lead to the collapse of the Russian economy.

- Of course there is an Iron curtain, but it is not with the whole world, but mainly only with Europe and the USA. Countries like Turkey, Mexico, China, Serbia, and many others do not even condemn Russia. This means that there is no blockade, moreover, Russia will sell all the same goods to Europe, simply through intermediary companies. Moreover, the gas pipeline through Ukraine IS STILL OPERATING AT FULL CAPACITY. The war is going on, but Ukraine is still pumping our gas to Europe, and Europe is buying it. It's fun, isn't it? Europe seems to be against the war, but the gas is on schedule.

- Sanctions mainly embitter Russians not against Putin, but against Europe and the United States. Previously, no one really believed that we have enemies in the West, but now many people think that the government was right, and the West treats us much worse than the native government. In general, we don't like Putin very much, it's true, although no one really fights against him, but Western sanctions literally rally people around the government.

- Russia has obviously been preparing for these sanctions since 2014 - since that moment we have our own payment systems (Mir), relations with China have been established, the policy of import substitution has led to the appearance of a large number of Russian products in food stores, exercises have been held several times on actions in case of Internet disconnection. We still have the same prices in grocery stores as on February 23. And that's not all, I just don't want to put too much emphasis on the details.

Let me clarify - all this may change, of course, but as far as I remember, the sanctions were designed for 3 possible results - the overthrow of Putin by the Russian people (at the moment, according to polls, 84% of the population believe in our army, and somewhere 70%+ consider the special operation justified), the collapse of the Russian economy (yes, it hurts us, but not much. This country, in principle, was not particularly rich, to frighten with poverty and lack of iPhones a country that was the USSR 30 years ago? Well, good luck) and the end of the war (not a single politician in Russia demonstrates a desire to end the war except by the surrender of Zelensky). As a result, the benefits of these sanctions are very doubtful, given that they simultaneously hit in the opposite direction, and strongly.

2. Arms supplies to Ukraine only prolong the conflict with an obvious outcome.

- Europe has supplied Ukraine with a lot of weapons, but why did they assume that Ukrainians know how to use them? Foreign anti-tank guns, which were issued to soldiers, are quite difficult to use, before that they had much simpler analogues. And what about the supply of aircraft, although Ukraine has almost no airfields left, and most of the skilled pilots died in battle? Drones from Turkey have already turned into a meme altogether. We also do not forget that Ukraine will have to pay for all these weapons later, even if they lose. Helping a failing country is wonderful, even more wonderful when you can make money on it, right?

- Only Russian contractors are fighting in Ukraine, volunteers and reserve officers in military enlistment offices are turned back with the words "we will cope without you." There is a very simple way to understand which country is losing - the one that mobilizes or at least brings reserves. Russia, according to American intelligence (which we obviously believe), is not bringing new troops to Ukraine. At the same time, there is an offensive, and every day the rings around cities are compressed, settlements are taken, armies pass from several kilometers to dozens. Ukraine announced mobilization immediately after the start of the conflict, but as soon as it became clear that it was impossible to conduct it normally in a mess, weapons began to be issued to everyone, which of course provoked looting and shootings among their own. The combat capability of these units also raises questions - I wonder who will win, civilians with machine guns or special forces, with the support of artillery, military equipment and from the air, which Ukraine does not control already in their own words? This tactic is called throwing meat at the front, but it can't help, it will only prolong the agony of the nation.

- The Russian army daily conducts an offensive in the south and east, where the most combat-ready units of the Ukrainian army are concentrated, especially the echeloned defense in the Donbas. But this defense is now simply being flanked and the two armies want to close the cauldron, which they will most likely succeed in the next week. If these Ukrainian armies are defeated or surrender, the eastern units will rush to the west to fight with the people's militia and the remnants of the Ukrainian army. If Ukraine could have prevented this, it would have counterattacked, but there are no counterattacks, the initiative is in the hands of the Russian army. They are only heroically fighting off our attacks, it is true, but as a rule this happens in the western and northern directions, where full-scale offensives are not conducted. In addition, if Mariupol and Kharkiv fall in the coming days, this will free up even more Russian troops to close the ring around the armies in the Donbas. In both cities, battles are already taking place within the city.

3. In this block I would like to clarify a few separate points

Ukraine itself refuses humanitarian corridors, because you see, it seems cynical to them that they lead to Russian territory. Apparently, keeping civilians in the city in the middle of hostilities is less cynical. I remind you that there is no news from the territory of Russia about any harassment of the local Ukrainian population, which of course lives and has always lived with us. Yes, it may be unpleasant to go to the enemy, but unpleasant is better than the death of civilians. Ukraine thinks otherwise.

In Russia, not so many people trust the government as you all think here. TV has not been very popular with us in recent years. The problem is that people are used to our government, but any negative action on the part of the enlightened West causes a much stronger rejection.

Separatist activity on the territory of Russia is fraught with nothing. I advise you to look at the recordings of the rallies on March 6 on YouTube - there were more police and journalists than protesters, several times.It was quite funny to watch the police just walking around and leading the girls by the handle into the paddy wagon, exchanging jokes. The Russians believe that they were absolutely unjustifiably accused and canceled for what they did not do, and they blame you for this, not the government. At the same time, a very small part of the population is rebelling, much more of them are on the Internet. But if the rallies do not solve anything, then dissatisfied faces on the Internet - even more so.

4. Political coloring

This happened for a single reason - the war between Russia and Europe for the Soviet legacy. In 2014, as a result of the coup, Ukraine turned from a neutral country into a pro-Western one. Yes, perhaps many of these people are really not Nazis, but they also positioned their country as Anti-Russia for no particular reason, and any Ukrainian who called himself a nationalist necessarily openly spoke out against Russia. Endless peace with such a neighbor is impossible, it was a matter of time, especially in the conditions of the disputed territories. The majority of Russians consider the decision of Khrushchev and Gorbachev on the distribution of land to Ukraine extremely erroneous, in many respects this is aggravated by the presence in Crimea and Donbas of a predominantly Russian-speaking population, whose language was deprived of the status of one of the official languages without demand, with subsequent promises to bring to justice anyone who disagrees with this.

Russia can say anything, but the only reason why our troops are there is Russia's desire for Ukraine to be their colony, and not a colony of the European Union. It's just a fact. Europe is fighting this battle with the hands of Ukrainians, we are fighting with our own. The origins of this confrontation lie back in the 90s, when Russia, after the collapse of the USSR, sought help from the West, but as a result, our leadership was only disappointed in this idea, since we did not wait for real help. NATO's approach to our borders unnecessarily is also a stepping stone to conflict. In any case, being far from being a Putinist, I am not inclined to think that our government made this choice thoughtlessly, but you can think as you want.

I don't think you have understood that this war has become a Total War Russia cannot lose if it loses it will stop being able to exert any kind influence and become a failed state. It must win to survive that is literally the only reason that Putin hasn't been taken out of the picture at this point.
