The proposed law applies to app stores for which gross sales receipts to North Dakota residents exceed $10 million in a calendar year. It applies to any "general-purpose hardware," including tablets and smartphones, but it explicitly excludes "special-purpose digital application distribution platforms" such as gaming consoles, music players, and "other special-purpose devices connected to the internet."

I did not know that but its is a ridiculous assertion to say the legislature is entirely made up of the wealthy.

Most legislatures are going to be made up of people who are at the very least above average in terms of wealth simply because of the professions that many reps tend to come from. In places like ND you can also add in the people made rich through oil, ranching, meat processing, etc.

Average as in upper middle class. I doubt anyone making below $75,000 a year is in there.

Sure, but most are still going to be better off than most people. Especially in a place like ND that pays $148 a session to its members, meaning most will be making their money outside of politics.

Lumen campaigns cost money. In a state level campaign maybe you don't have to be a millionaire but you can't be poorer than Oliver Twist and run.

But as I said before, when has it ever really been that different? Politics tends to be dominated by those who have the means to most effectively use the tools and connections. That will generally require either lead and/or silver historically speaking.

The average small business owner income in the US is 71k. Assuming a spouse even making just 40k a year, they will have scooted right into upper middle class.

So long as Fred Meyer has no liability for anyone getting sick from the thrown away food, I fail to see why people should not be allowed to go dumpster diving. The only reason the police should have been there was to ensure that no fights over food happened.
