We should look upper story doors too, the reforms made in 1912 were a mistake and the Triangle Shirtwaist factory did nothing wrong.

I love how in many localities including my own, the mask laws don't apply to kids.

What you think kids can't spread covid? I swear if they lock us down again before they make little Timmy wear a mask.

Shit heres an idea. Let's just round up the unemployed and send them to labor camps, I mean textile mills, er employment centers, where they'll have to work 17 hours a day and they will make our clothing for us. That's rights, endless rows of formerly unemployed people being forced at gunpoint, i mean guarded by men with arms, to sew shirts and pants for us. When will they be let go? Maybe at age 65, idk.

See? The economy is roaring.

That's just a practical thing. Some 5 year olds will love cutting about in a mask. Others will just refuse.

Saw a mother in Aldi this morning give a ~4 year old the choice between wearing a mask or having to stay strapped in their buggy. The kid chose neither so was strapped in their buggy. Seemed like a sensible compromise.

Good enough I guess. They just better keep their kids by their side. if i see any children running around my store, it'll be like seeing the angel of death running at me. I can't afford to catch covid from anyone.

Well if you listen to the Trump crowd, they think children are almost immune and there's no such thing as a asymptomatic carrier.

Yes but giving people money isn't feasible obviously. If people don't have to engage in wage labor to survive than they might not choose slave away the majority of their lives in the name of enlarging the profits of capitalists.

If it were only that simple. Your agenda isn’t going to make things better. It will cause untold suffering worse than any pandemic. It’s a good thing your not a mayor or governor

This again?

If the United States had a political system worth shit, it would be helping people in financial trouble because of this pandemic without undermining social distancing and other such necessary policies. It would be implementing real universal basic income, banning evictions, cancelling rent, subsidizing small and medium businesses, etc.

Not to mention, as others and myself have repeatedly pointed out, that the benefit of keeping businesses open in the middle of a pandemic and a global recession will be negligible at best. Lots of consumers are either sick or trying not to get sick, so you will see a lot less people going to your businesses unless it's absolutely essential. Lots of consumers will not have the income to consume as they used to because it's a global recession and most people are worse off because of it. And if you insist on forcing or manipulating your workers into putting themselves at risk of infection, you'll inevitably end up with a lot of workers needlessly getting sick and even dying for you, the government will probably be forced to shut you down anyway for turning your business into a public health emergency, and after that you better pray that your workers and their families don't sue you into oblivion for being a reckless dickhead.

My county has instituted fines for not obeying the mask orders, which while understandable considering the attitudes I've seen around here, is slightly concerning to me.

I've been taking daily walks, and although I usually don't wear my mask during them, I choose areas where there are both few people and a lot of room to maneuver when someone does happen to show up, although I still carry a mask with me if needed.

Now I'm wondering if I should just wear it full-time even when literally nobody is in sight to avoid someone preemptively reporting me from a window.
