Most of China’s industrial might came from western behemoth corporations outsourcing operations, and in a loop exploiting a market of 1.3 billion people.

I wonder what would happen if that were taken away...

Also China is in possession of around 270 nukes, and not enough missles for all of them to hit mainland USA, there is no MAD in nuclear warfare with them.

Also to the south is India witch is perhaps a couple years behind them and from the start match them in any war.

China has already declared a war being fought in the world of economics. Taking over Africa, and subduing Europe, stealing tech ideas and becoming more like Orwell’s 1984

They have had an extremely powerful censoring capability, but they can very much be compared to the 4 reich.

Also as they were developing they had a population boom, now either many old people will die* or they will become a welfare state.

Their acceleration catching up with them, pollution is a major issue.

Hopefully with Hong Kong people will understand China’s true workings.

No, U.S and China are co-dependent on each other whether you like it or not, invading them would be economic suicide. Don't forget that Russia is Chinas Allie and has nukes. I doubt that Russia would not get involved in some way if we invade China.

In ww3 scenario Russia has to deal with Europe

And will loose, both sides have nukes and Europe has a much higher population and economy.

Perhaps Latvia Estonia Lithuania and Poland would be temporarily occupied, but that would be the full extent

Also China’s economy doesent consist of resources but of cheap manufacturing. If all of that were to go away, short term loss and long term gain and self dependence for many countries most notably the USA

Also because China is a technocratic oligarchy they understand that being nuked means duying. As far as I understand it, the leaders would trade a non nuclear end to the war instaed id dying. If the world gave a single !@#$ about doing anything about China, you could destroy it in 6 to 10 weeks without firing a shot.

You just stop buying anything from them and get your items from other places to shore up the resulting trade deficits (i.e.; Australia could replace all of their trade with China with Canada, the US, Chile, Japan, South Korea, India, and Malaysia). China would implode.

You want to rush it, have every country in the world announce that all of their Chinese held debts are nullified and seize Chinese held holdings in their countries (looking at all that real estate in Canada that could go a long way returned to Canadian hands).

But nobody is going to do that. Because Human decency is not as important as cheap crap. Further, most nations look at China as the ideal while paying lip service to their citizens.

A person who has nothing to lose will commit acts he/she would have otherwise never even thought of doing, and yes, that includes pushing the red button to launch the warheads.

It wouldn't even be a nuclear war. China's arsenal is small and their missile count is likewise small enough to be defeated by currently existing ABM systems.

Then what’s the point then? If they aren’t a threat then they aren’t worth nuking. Killing mass amounts of people for no reason other than ideological reasons is worthless, please don’t advocate that.

In an autocratic state loyalty to they country is loyalty to the leader. Not an ideal. For the leader that means, they are like a king. No loyalty but to themselves. It could very well be that would make the calculation that loss of power and not loss of power and life is sufficient

Not agreeing with the immediate nuking but they are a very real threat in economical terms, not for superiority (witch they in many ways do not have) but because of their pirate like takeovers of technology and borderland, and attempting to control the truth. Most people have never heard about the internment camps in China. Some apps for “security” (when you talk about tainmeain square for instance) littorally reapquire to enter your face and voice in some database. They are 1984

Chinas economy is not entirely on manufacturing. China is a top producer of many ores. I do think we can become more independent from china but it is not realistic to assume that there would be short term lost from China going away. U.S businesses have invested heavily in China and if China falls then their investment is gone. It would have a long term impact on the economy.

War is not going to solve any of this unless you’re willing to sacrifice likely millions of American lives to achieve some sort of Pyrrhic victory where you collapse the global economy in the process and likely western society in the process. Unless there’s a smarter way to transfer Chinese economic power to the west without killing ourselves in the process then everything else is a non viable solution.

China isint that integral to the economy, and if a full war happened it would be felt much less anyway as a war economy would be the norm. As in tightly state controlled and producing anyways, costs later.

As for the transfer the “hardest” way would be for large countries to say either trade with me or China, but that would cause many issues and be quite extreme. Best case scenario.

North America works much more closely economically, sound America is invested and renovated heavily by those North America, (also democracy) Europe slowly phases out trade with China, that would leave the battleground as Africa. With both sides pooling resources and vying for support Africa would enter a growing “factory” phase. Oceania should be compared to Europe

Also a new space race would be helpful.
