It will be interesting to see if they choose to do so.
You thought wrong.
If the case was closed though. He must have been arrested on the American warrant. Otherwise why was he arrested? I would think whatever warrant he was arrested under would control where he goes.
On personal opinion, I think the American case is a political one, so if he were to go anywhere it should be Sweden.

And this kind of reasoning, and the cheek in telling it, is exactly why people like America so much and absofuckinglutely no one would ever love to smash some USian head. Ever.

I requested Great Britain to guarantee that Mr Assange would not be extradited to a country where he could face torture or the death penalty. The British government has confirmed it in writing, in accordance with its own rules

Ecuador is an insignificant country, so there is no consequence if the UK barged into that embassy anyways. You have to respect the embassy of a country like Japan or Russia, but for Ecuador? I'd say they don't warrant respect. If the UK temporarily didn't have an embassy in Ecuador, so what? They shouldn't have pulled this stunt to begin with.

Yes, oh my god yes, this!
Applauding US casualty lists is my favorite pastime. Might also make some decent money by doing business with people in opposing nations.

Ah, not quite.
The carefully phrased agreement between the Ecuadorian and British governments rules out extraditing Assange if he would face torture or the death penalty. This is not a difficult guarantee to give given that EU members cannot extradite someone who would face the death penalty in the destination jurisdiction; but it's not quite the same as guaranteeing not to send him to a country that has the death penalty on its books.
Edit: The specific part of Moreno's statement:I requested Great Britain to guarantee that Mr Assange would not be extradited to a country where he could face torture or the death penalty. The British government has confirmed it in writing, in accordance with its own rules
The loophole that the British Home Secretary can use, if inclined to do so, would be a guarantee from US prosecutors that they wouldn't seek the death penalty against Assange.
I stress that noting this loophole doesn't necessarily reflect my personal view on the desirability of his extradition to the US. Though I do hope he does get extradited to Sweden, mind.

I stand corrected. As long as Trump keeps his big stupid mouth shut.
