"Ruining my nation"?

Please.
It isn't "your" nation. It's simply a patch of dirt with lines drawn around it.

As a nationalist, I say that it is my nation.

I wouldn't call it a police state but, as far as I know, the unwarranted arrests and the harassment by border guards is a quite shitty thing.

While I think Mr./miss nacio is taking the argument into the extreme fringes, I must protest your criterion for police state. We aren't "as bad" as other examples of police states in history, but we ARE traveling down that path. We need to nix it now, whole we are able to. Or the "yet" will be upon us and will be able to do next to nothing about it.

1. Millions of sons, daughters, brothers, and sisters who died for what? NSA surveillance?
2. What interests exactly?
3. The Soviets did quite a bit of it themselves. Hell, they beat us to Berlin.

Not really. Little Boy and Fatman were the only two nukes in the American stockpile, IIRC.

But the Soviets would have already overrun Europe, by that point.

We are also speaking of WW2 era atom bombs.

You do, but at the time we were the only nation capable of producing nuclear weapons. We would have made a few more to bomb Russia with.
