Excellent series. It's a pity Stirling hasn't done anything further with it.

It was good, but I think I enjoy 1632 more.

Currently re-reading Cormac McCarthy's The Road. It's quite the experience, though certainly not as good as Blood Meridian. I would highly recommend it for lovers of dystopia.

Man in the High Castle by Phillip K Dick. This is one of the most classic alternate history books, and its no wonder I based by NaNo work on it.

Horrible Histories' The Frightful First World War.

These books are my childhood delight, have been reading them since 2009 (when I was in secondary school). Sure, they might not be as detailed or accurate, but they are still pretty decent as compared to movies and stuff.

There's a Little Free Library in my city and I recently traded out "The Turkish Embassy Letters" by Mary Montagu for "Ship Breaker" by Paolo Bacigalupi. It's set in a post-apocalyptic world where polar caps melted and humanity went into survival mode, with the MC's village making money off of scavenging ships for valuables and leftover oil

I think I read Ship Breaker a long time ago. That plot sounds familiar.
I'm currently rereading The Xenocide Mission by Ben Jeapes. I read it once, way back in school, and recently stumbled upon a copy of it at a used book store.

I'm doing a bit of juggling at the moment.

Circe by Madeline Miller (an absolute joy to read).

Bringing Down the Duke by Evie Dunmore

Uprooted by Naomi Novik

Oh, that book made me ever so sad. "An experience" is the kindest way it might be described. It was the sort of sadness that doesn't bring tears, but just asks you to sit there and feel it, a leaden weight through your entire body. A profoundly unpleasant book, and yet it can in no way be called a bad book.
