Don't be corrupt and don't let yourself be bribed. If you do that, you are better than 99% of politicians, a book is not really a prequisite

I'm currently reading The Wealth of Nations by Adam Smith
A big, 1.8 M blob filled with joy and enthusiasm, with a small dash of ingenuity combined with a youthful, healthy dose of idealism.

The West won the world not by the superiority of its ideas or values or religion … but rather by its superiority in applying organized violence. Westerners often forget this fact; non-Westerners never do.

The most fundamental problem of politics is not the control of wickedness but the limitation of righteousness.

Runaway Horses by Yukio Mishima. A Don Quixotic tale of a man named Honda who believes he's found the soul of his long dead friend Kiyoaki reincarnated in the form of an ultra-nationalist boy named Isao. I'm really quite excited because it seems much more interesting than the previous book in the tetralogy Spring Snow (which wasn't that bad, simply failed to keep my interest).
Hegel wrote:“Spirit certainly makes war upon itself - consumes its own existence; but in this very destruction it works up that existence into a new form, and each successive phase becomes in its turn a material, working on which it exalts itself to a new grade..”

Magic for Beginners, a collection of stories by Kelly Link. Her stuff is hard to describe...except maybe to say it's magical. The collection includes a fairy tale, Catskin, a ghost story, Stone Animals, and the title story, about a strange pirate TV show called The Library. As she says, "You've never seen The Library on TV, but I bet you wish you had." I do!

Can someone suggest me good books on public speaking, how to learn to be a politician, where to start and stuff like that?

Thank you

Philosophy as a Rite of Rebirth: From Ancient Egypt to Neoplatonism by Algis Užydavinys
It's a study of religion in Antiquity, from what seems like an occult standpoint. Pretty interesting.

I'm trying to get some progress into Stephen King's "IT" but there are a few books that i'm interested in checking out afterwards so i'll list them off.

"Project: Nemesis" by Jeremy Robinson

"Metro 2033" by Dmitry Glukhovsky

"World War Z" by Max Brooks

"Third Reich Victorious" by Peter G. Tsouras

I read Rose by Jeff Smith, prequel to the Bone series. It was ok, but I didn't like as much as the other books. Currently I'm reading Nimona by Noelle Stevenson. It's pretty good.
