I love my e-reader!

Are e-readers really that great...? I've always been skeptical of them. I'm sort of a traditionalist when it comes to reading.

I find them handy. Plus, at the rate I read, yeah, an e-reader is magnificent.

Currently reading Aesop's Fables.

E-readers are okay. Depends on which one you get. I can't say anything of Kindle, but B&N Nooks suck. I bought an iPad and I find them absolutely delightful.

Really?

I read a few of his plays back in school and found them incredibly dry and boring.

Currently, I am working through:
The Three Musketeers by Alexandre Dumas
Hero -- Myths & Legends of the British Race by M.I. Ebbutt
Atlas Shrugged by Ann Rand
The King James Bible by multiple scholars

My next slate of books will include War and Peace and A Tale of Two Cities

By the way, for all us e-reader fans. I would encourage anyone to visit Project Gutenberg. Many out of copyright books can be found there. Three of the four books I'm currently reading I got there for free.

I had some books a while back that took his plays and converted them into prose. They are much easier to read in this format, without the iambic pentameter and with a third person narrator, rather than having the story passed to you by the dialogue and stage directions. I found that most of the plots were decent, i just cant stand reading them as plays though

For those with e-readers I can thoroughly recommend downloading a piece of free software called Calibre. It allows you to change from one format to another, search online, manage collections, remove drm, edit metadata. Very handy.

Redemption Ark by Alastair Reynolds.

Totally on a sci-fi binge at the moment: I've just finished Dan Simmons' Ilium and next up I'll be reading Olympos and Hyperion, also by Simmons, then starting Stephen Baxter's Destiny's Children series before returning to Reynolds with Absolution Gap. That should get me through to New Year, at least. :p

I actually looked to see if Machine Man was on the B&N list for the Nook for shits n' gigs before classes started today, and it turns out that it was. I downloaded the free sample and I'm considering buying it.

'Course I don't really have the $10.00 to spare at the moment. Which sucks, since I'm actually really intrigued by it from what I read.

At the Mountains of Madness by H.P. Lovecraft. Good book, but the archeological jargon slows the reading down a bit. Unfortunately, the jargon also needs to be understood in order to truly enhance the story properly.
