Beyond This Horizon by Robert Heinlein. I'm about 1/3 of the way done, and it's pretty good so far.

"The universe did never make sense; I suspect it was built on government contract."

"Affordability

Ammunition supply-chain (6.5x55 Swede and .303 British, although available, isn't exactly everywhere)

Carolingian Civilisation: A Reader, edited by Paul Dutton. Very good for learning about the Carolingian Franks from themselves.
O reader, understand the rankness of your devouring belly; For it is that which you now smell in your putrid [poo]. Therefore, leave off feeding the gluttony of your belly; And in good time let the sober life return to you.

Madame Bovary by Gustave Flaubert. Very interesting depiction of how mundane and vapid middle class life was in the 19th century.

I'm reading Face Off edited by David Baldacci

11 short stories, written by 22 authors (two per story, combining their main characters) really good reading, as well as pointing me towards authors that I haven't read yet.

One of the best books ever written. But it is also great in terms of the global ideas put into it.

Meteorologi og Oceanografi For Sjømænd by Joh. Fossum and Hj. Jensen, 1915. Educational book from the early days of an independent Norway. One of the many old books that would otherwise get purged by the local museum warehouse.

The Darth Bane books are some of my favorite from the EU. I've been meaning to re-read them myself with all this newfound free time, but haven't gotten around to it yet.

The War of the Worlds. I picked up a copy of The Death of Grass at an antique store thinking it would be more Geoffrey Housholder than what it is, a cross between Lord of the Flies and War of the Worlds, then realized I had never read the latter even though I had read The Island of Dr. Moreau, The Time Machine, Tono-Bungay, Mind at the End of its Tether and a short story collection. One of my favorite passages in English literature is the heat death of the solar system described in TIme Machine. It comforts me somehow.
