I love Fallout: New Vegas

Postby Urcea » Mon Dec 27, 2010 7:35 pm

I got it for Christmas, and man, this game is epic. I loved Fallout 3, but F3 pales in comparison to FNV. Fallout: New Vegas is so epically massive - the map, for one, feels much more expansive than Fallout 3's. Additionally, it's much, much more interesting. A crappy, gray wasteland filled with a bunch of shit villages compared to an epic desert filled with tons of small, interesting towns?

The faction system is great. No other way to describe it.

There are so many quests, side quests, and side story-lines to make your head spin.

I don't think I'm even halfway done. I'm up to the part where
I have to assassinate Papa Khan.
I love this game so much. Originally, I disliked the fact that you have to walk to everything and that everything was expensive, but I think it adds to the experience.

I really like fallout: new vegas (played it though 3 times so far) but I kinda liked fallout 3 better, maybe it's just cause I'm from the east coast.

Fallout 3 was at least playable. Fallout New Vegas is riddled with so many glitches it's inexcusable.

Glitches or not, Vegas is a much better game than F3. F3, comparatively, is small and short.

It's hardly a better game. Fallout 3 was enjoyable, New Vegas is not.

New Vegas has the actual BoS which wins it points from me. It just felt more like a Fallout game in general, unlike 3 which just felt like Tactics did. A Fallout related game. I'm not saying 3 was a bad game, just not in the spirit of the first 2.

It's great, but I keep doing evil things on accident.

I got a shopkeeper's head blown off, convinced a man I was out to kill him which forced me to kill him, killed a former NCR ranger, and killed another guy by putting dynamite in his pocket...

all in the same 10-minute period.
When debating me or discussing something with me, remember five things:
1. I'm not moderate.
2. I'm not fascist/a nazi.
3. I'm conservative on social issues and liberal on economic issues.
4. I won't bother looking for six million sources for you.
5. I'm not always serious!

Many, many people disagree.

Including me.
we, unlike the bourgeoisie, have nothing to lose and therefore our expression will be the only honest one, our words will be the only challenging ones and our art will be the one revolutionary expression. We need new noise and new voices and new canvases to become something more than the last poets of a useless generation.

Many, many people don't know what constitutes a good game.

Including you.

The fact that it was fun made it a good game.

Anything else is irrelevant.

Fun isn't a fact. It's not fun to me because it's riddled with glitches that detract from the experience.

Yet it is fun to many other people.

Plus you could probably get the glitches fixed if you download mods or something, if you have it on the PC. I don't, and I don't care, because it entertains me, despite the glitches.

Beat it once(for the NCR; mad about not getting the armor), and am still amazed. I'm taking a break to play Fable III, but I intend on continuing my last saved game (working towards Ind. Vegas) when I get the chance.

To get the armour:

Get the pulse-fist-thingy that does a ridiculous amount of damage
Get a stealth boy
Find a ranger vet
Use the stealth boy
Punch him with the fist thing
Take his armour.

Ha, you do these things on accident...

Personally I enjoy the game, and place it at about top 3 of my favourite games I've ever played...The glitches are annoying, but if you get by them (With constant saving by fast travelling, sleeping etc...), it can be a great game to play on your spare time...

Yeah, I learned a way to do it during the "You'll Know It When It Happens" mission. Simply get the bomb and inform the rangers, but allow for the sniper to get a shot off. He'll kill a Ranger Vet, allowing you to kill the sniper and use a Stealth Boy to take the armor. A bit complicated, but I might try it.

This is still a good game, though.
