Face it, Britain's given us Pink Floyd, Van der Graaf Generator, King Crimson, Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Yes, Hawkwind, Soft Machine, Porcupine Tree, Genesis, Jethro Tull... Hard act to beat.

I've heard Van der Graaf, Emerson, Genesis, Jethro Tull, and Porcupine Tree. Vast majority of those you listed. Above all, I enjoy Pink Floyd the most.

That's not what you said the first time. You said the only good one was Pink Floyd, not that you enjoy Pink Floyd the most. I'm also curious as to what you've heard of all of those groups.

The only one I find good enough to proclaim better than the rest is Pink Floyd. The only song I can remember by the others was by Van der Graaf.

That is the greatest VDGG song ever. Only album better than Pawn Hearts was Godbluff.

Oh, and if you can't think of a Genesis or Jethro Tull song...

*shrugs*

Honestly, most things before the '80's don't get my attention unless they are classical masterpieces or just very, very good.

I think a lot of Americans have done music far better than the Brits. I mean, we have No Wave, Post-Hardcore, Post-Rock, Noise Rock, Folk, Alternative Rock, etc.

The Brits are still excellent, but they're hardly the best, and I feel the US, as well as a number of other European nations, surpass them.
