I got thinking today about decent music. No one does it seriously epic like Britain. I mean, we brought to the world the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Motorhead, the Sex Pistols, etc, etc.

Can anyone counter this?

I think a lot of Americans have done music far better than the Brits. I mean, we have No Wave, Post-Hardcore, Post-Rock, Noise Rock, Folk, Alternative Rock, etc.

The Brits are still excellent, but they're hardly the best, and I feel the US, as well as a number of other European nations, surpass them.

Apart from the awful Post-Grunge acts, Canada has brought us something truly awesome in the form of Godspeed You! Black Emperor. Of course, they're from French Canada...
