And you've got to put your bodies upon the gears and upon the wheels, upon the levers, upon all the apparatus, and you've got to make it stop. If you're going to shit on entire genres, you should probably actually listen to them, seeing as some of them can sing, like Mikael Akerfeldt, Steve Von Till, and Scott Kelly.

Ozzy Osbourne has always had a thin and whiny voice that never appealed to me.

I personally believe that "weakness" is part of his appeal, but to each his own, I suppose.

I vote Brandon Flowers (of the Killers). While I like his singing, it's just not that great when compared to most others.

From a purely technical standpoint, Cobain was a dreadful singer.

I mean, look at "Fool in the Rain". Compare that to, say, O.A.R.'s version. It really is a great song, I just think a weak vocal performance let it down.

At least from my point of view, passion>>>>>>technique, even though both are essential to a good vocalist, IMO. While Kurt wasn't very good technically, I think he was at the very least decent and his passion more than made up for his lack of technique.

There are good rock vocalists?

Just kidding, in all honesty I think any vocalist who makes it big has got to have some talent. So the worst would have to be a talentless hack who isn't famous.

Janis Joplin

Every time the radio starts playing her screaming, and not singing, her songs I hit the off button. I'd like to know what made her so popular back in the day. [vomit]

She's certainly nowhere near the worst, but for some reason I can't stand Natalie Merchant. She was OK when she was with 10,000 Maniacs, but since she went solo...it just don't do it for me. There's something annoyingly pretentious about her voice. And she had the nerve to cover Because the Night. Forget it, honey, you are no Patti Smith. >:(

Any band who has a vocalist that competes for worst rock vocalist probably shouldn't qualify for the rock genre.
"The sovereign represents the state; he and his people form but one body, which can only be happy as far as united by concord. I have never cared for Cobain... I really don't like the lead singer for Third Day either.

Come to think of it, that type of gruff voice has never appealed to me. Like Daughtry....yeah, I can't stand him...

I support a healthy mixture of faith and logical reasoning. I realize that may mean something different to you, but I really don't care. I can be dissuaded through a logical argument. I'm fun to be around, but if you annoy me I will cut you.
Just kidding, I don't care as long as you aren't rude... :)
