Alright, the point of this is to simply write down a few things; Your favorite genre of music, your favorite "artist (any kind you want, please say what they do though), and how you identify yourself as a person, from the soul.

So, of course, I'll start.


My favorite genre of music is rock. Why ? Because some bands connect better than others.

My favorite artist is Egon Schiele, an Austrian painter. His paintings were rather controversial and morbid for the day, but they are utterly gorgeous to me. Lastly, I'd identify myself as a bastion of misfortune. A lot of things combined made me the way I am today, and even I don't like it sometimes.

I can't really say what my favourite music is, because there is no real favourite, really. It has to be "real" music, though - so no techno, house, or stuff like that. Main stuff I listen to is Alternative Rock, Symphonic Metal, and sometimes actually Blues. Favourite bands? Paramore, Billy Talent, Nightwish. And if I need something to calm me down, John Mayer's album "Continuum" does wonders. Or Ray Charles' stuff.

When it comes to being an artist myself, I sometimes write poems, and I'm also a trumpeter, where I prefer playing Big Band stuff.

Favourite artist? No such thing, really. I like unique pieces of art from all sorts of people, but there's not really one definite favourite. I respect any artist, even if I don't like his work.

Lastly, how to describe myself? Well, I'm more of a loner, really. Few close friends, although there are of course people I hang out with. I get the feeling though, that nobody of them really knows me. Bad luck, and people treating me badly, have lead me there, have made me what I am today. I've learnt not to trust too early - and there are not too many people I'd trust anything important to.

I love Rock music, but also like Alt-Rock, some metal, some jazz, and J-Techno.

My favorite artist is either Fireflight or Coldplay.

I identify myself as...hm... A lamp. I'm there mainly for looks, and people only pay attention to anything about my life when they need to use me.

Arrogant pompous ass. I consider myself an intellectual, and never hide the fact. I think I am a better person than the majority of humankind, and am often rude towards people I consider inferior.

My favorite genre of music has to be hard rock/heavy metal, but it has to have a solid guitar part... it's an odd way to put it, but it's really only the skill of the instruments and how they're put together that makes or breaks it for me.

My favorite artist is an even more difficult question. I tend not to settle into favorites, and if I do, it's normally not very long-lasting, but one artist I can say I've greatly admired for much of my life is Frank Zappa. He knew how to take a group of skilled individuals together, and make them work together in an intriguing, yet very fluid and cohesive, way.

I'd identify myself similar to abandoned ruins in an jungle, in a way. It takes a lot of work to pick me out of a group, as I'm content with pretending to conform, despite working to influence the world around me. I've been battered, beaten, torn away from, and despite the harshness that a world throws at me, I endure. Nothing more, nothing less. It gets very quiet sometimes, but hey. That's life for you.

Favourite genre of music: 20th century classical -- more specifically, Modernism and a number of its descendants. I also listen to jazz, baroque and renaissance music and could probably get into any non-repetitive genre of music without vocals.

Favourite artist: Hmm... probably M.C. Escher. Oddly, I don't like any form of art much, apart from music (which I probably only like because I'm myself a musician).

Soul: I'm a soulless automaton. <.< More seriously I tend to think of myself as just an ordinary dude. I've got my idiosyncrasies, sure, but who hasn't?

Favorite genre of music would probably be rock because the majority of the songs I like fall under there.

Favorite artist would be Édouard-Henri Avril. What can I say, it's like porn for the soul.

I'm an arrogant, self-centered, egotistical jackass who womanizes, drinks and smokes heavily. Though I like to tell myself I'm looking for the 'right' girl, I usually just bag whatever bimbo who is decent enough and drunk enough to screw. When I began to feel guilt or an emptiness, I usually drink to relieve myself of such emotions. And I enjoy a good cigar now and then. Deeper down, I think I'm lonely because I'm looking for a girl who is physically attractive and mentally stimulating. Who is neither stiff nor too loose, instead witty, funny and gets tv/movie references (I mean really, never seen Star Wars?). And alcohol and frequent sex is just a way to substitute my unhappiness.

I am a nice, happy cynic who takes absolutely nothing serious. Yeah, that is pretty much it. Expect the answer to change on my rapidly changing whims.

My favourite genre of music... there are many! I like progressive rock, definitely. Punk rock is awesome too, especially the Clash. Alternative is good, so is funk rock (RHCP!) Then, there's the local stuff, like Sufi rock, folk songs and stuff. I've grown out of metal, mostly. Oh, and some techno is good.

As for artist, I'd say it would be the poets Habib Jalib, and Faiz Ahmed Faiz. Both wrote excellent poetry about the oppression and inequalities in Pakistani society. Also, both were Marxist. Obviously, they spent a lot of time in prison for these reasons.

Uh, and I guess I'd describe myself as quiet. I never did have a lot of friends, but I was fortunate to have some close ones. Just a normal, average person, really.

My favorite kind of music, because of the energy. But look at my itunes library, and you'd be hard-pressed to find a genre that isn't on there. lol
