Best/Worst Christmas Carols

Postby Wilgrove » Sun Nov 28, 2010 8:38 pm

So, it's that time of the year again, when one radio station in your area will play 24/7 Christmas music now till the day after Christmas. So, what are the best and worst Christmas Carol?

Best: Anything by Gene Audry or Frank Sinatra.

Worst: Last Christmas. I fucking HATE this song. I don't know why, but it fucking sucks and need to DIE!

Agreed on both.
My favorite specific carol is "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen".

I hate all Christmas music. It all sucks. Except the Trans Siberian Orchestra.

Oh, there are too many to choose just one good Christmas carol. "Hark, The Herald Angels Sing" has been growing on me recently, but there are so many good ones...

I'm really not fond at all of the "Let Our Gladness Have No End" arrangement that has a stupid accidental on the "no"...

As far as stuff I expect to hear on the radio, there's a great version of "O Holy Night" out there somewhere. Pretty sure Josh Groban. And Mannheim Steamroller are always fun. Worst? Not a fan of the hippopotamus one or "Baby, It's Cold Outside", though it's rather likely I've just blocked all memories of something atrociously worse than even these.
