Ooh, Minecraft. I played it really frequently for a period of time and really enjoyed it, but the computer that I have it on hasn't been functional for a fair while. It's worth the money though.

yeah, you can download it before you buy it.

(that said, it's only the exe/zip/jar that is used to find the files to DL when you log in, I think.)

I have. I regret paying for it, should of just got it for free. I played a good solid week, it was fun, but never touched it after. Not sure why, but I just interest fast and the updates haven't given me any interest to go back to it.

I prefer multiplayer to be honest. Can't really get hooked to single player, since I got Skyrim for that. Other than that one of the best games ever made.

17.7 Miles of Redstone. A conservative count of how much redstone (Not including torches, repeaters, or pistons) is in my friends latest project. We have way too much time on our hands.

Probably, although it depends how big you want the ship to be.
With that size it sounds like you've got enough space to make an aircraft carrier.

For making 17-18th century ships that i've done i haven't needed more than 15 blocks wide, i would recommend using an odd number for the width though, it makes it easier to make it symmetrical, having double block wide masts just looks odd.

For length i haven't needed more than about 60-70 blocks? something like that and that was for the larger versions of the ships i've done.

I've been watching minecraft videos for over a year now, since I haven't had a computer un-shitty enough to even play Alpha on it until about a week ago. However, lacking the funds to buy it after spending the rest of my money on other games like Skyrim and New Vegas, I resorted to downloading the PC Gamer Demo.
I was not disappointed. I have a small but functional base on the top of a small mountain, almost Coe-style, with a 5x5 shaft drilled in my basement. I have dug into a cave, and am now juggling shitting my pants while trying to clear out a small section and getting that coal.

Fucking skeletons, man. It's like getting some ore is a federal fucking issue to them.

skeletons take coal very seriously

btw you can burn up charcoal by cooking wood (not planks "wood"), which does exactly the same things coal can. if you're short of coal it's pretty handy.

That is farther than I ever got in survival mode with Tekkit, even with the hours of YouTube and Wiki to learn what does what.
