My dad said that he hoped the movie would be based after the end-game text.

That might be good. The other problem with Minecraft is that it's Minecraft. You have to mine. Personally, I don't want to watch a movie of that.

It's two endermen chatting around about deep stuff, including humans having to ascend a level, or something like that.

And I must say, basing it on that might be interesting.
Though if one wants to actually relate it to that kind of stuff, then I'd rather have it be the quest to reach the ender dimension and slay the dragon because of _____insert reason here_____ and about the end-game text.

You don't even need a mod. A long time ago before command blocks were even a thing, someone rigged up some kind of monstrous redstone contraption that would emulate Minecraft. Now you can just do it with command blocks and hoppers and whatnot.
