I had initially left with the advent of the 3rd graders discovering it, but I've gotten back into it, for the sake of nostalgia.

I thought about building a spaceship a while ago, but as soon as the world loaded, I decided it would be too boring to make.

Why do you play Minecraft? :P

You'd probably get bored, anyway. Anything you could help with would be boring, mundane jobs like filling in walls :P

Minecraft does have a very boring aspect to it.

Try filling up a chest with stacks of stone bricks on survival, with no silk touch, 'cuz its not fun. :p

I know that feel...

I'm apparently very unlucky when it comes to finding something that isn't stone and coal.

Try mining deeper. Level 12 or so. That's where you find the most diamonds.

What I would really like is iron, at the very least.

Plus, I'm absolutely terrified of the Nether. I'm afraid I'll loose everything if I go in there.

But I really need a blaze rod, so I can make an Eye of Ender, and find a stronghold, so I can relive Dungeon Master.

Put everything in a chest before you go in to the Nether. That's what I did. Which was a good plan, because I lag like hell in the Nether.

The Nether isn't that bad. Take a couple stacks of snowballs, a sword (at least iron), a good bow and arrows, and some cobble, and you'll be fine. Build a shelter around the portal out of cobblestone and everything will go okay if you're smart. Snowballs harm Blazes, one good hit with a bow should kill a Ghast, the sword will work on Wither Skeletons, and you can use the cobble to avoid getting lost in fortresses. If you don't want to bring too much cobble, just place a block right before each intersection, in the tunnel you came from. That way you'll know which one it is. Stay away from lava, of course.

Just never, never, never attack Zombie Pigmen until you have the best of everything. They will mob you and you will die.

Edit: Also this.

They're actually programmed to take more damage from snowballs?

That's... GENIUS.

I didn't know they were actually PROGRAMMED for that. "Nimwit" was not necessary at all.

No, it wasn't. I've played Minecraft for years and I didn't know that. *Prepares to take snowballs in to the Nether form now on*

Made of fire or not, there's nothing to suggest that the snowballs are programmed to do damage like that. In most games they wouldn't. I always thought snowballs were just for fun. Not to mention that I think, technically, snowballs wouldn't do anything on fire. I think it would be more likely for the snowball to just melt.

Which they totally should if the heat is intense enough, IRL.

I assume Blazes are very very hot to the touch, being supernatural fire monsters.

If you get too close, you will catch on fire. But snowballs still do damage. It's the best use for them.

Once you've killed one or two, create a Brewing Stand, then brew a potion of fire resistance. You never need fear Blazes again, although I would watch out for skeletons.

Besides, if we're going by video game logic, fire beats ice which beats water which beats fire.

I learned that from Luigi's Mansion.
