 More heavy metal/death metalish stuff I take it? My friends are more into that scene than I am. A few names ring a bell though.

The first two are deathgrind, the other two are war metal/bestial black metal/thrashy, old school death metal/black metal sounding stuff.

As an Australian the only Australian music I've liked is AC/DC, though I don't mind Wolfmother that much. Actually, thats a bit unfair, I don't mind Men At Work, Divinyls and some seventies/eighties bands, they're very memorable though they go against all the frameworks I use to judge music. Oh, I just remembered I quite liked Hobbs' Angel of Death and Mortal Sin though I've yet to properly evaluate other Australian thrash metal bands.

and AC/DC of course.
My nation is not like my nation page at all, it contradicts itself, we don't EVER eat kangaroos, that's just very sad. Also vegetarianism is compulsory yet it still says it's the nation's favourite main course and all and stuff.

Australian Hip Hop is really gaining a foothold now. There's some great bands like Hilltop hoods and Bliss n Eso as well as the politically charged songs from The Herd.

True. I hate to generalise, but I'm really not a fan of the repetitive 'gangsta' crap coming out of the US right now.

Definitely. I'm a big fan of most Aussie hip hop. Much more than American hip hop, or at least most of the current stuff. On the whole much less materialistic and commercialised.
