Favorite Science Fiction and/or Fantasy Television Shows?

Postby Blau Stein » Sat Nov 06, 2010 6:27 pm

I didn't see another thread for this, so I apologize if there is one that I didn't find.

What are some of your favorite Science Fiction and/or Fantasy television shows?

Some of mine are:

Farscape
X-Files
Doctor Who (Old & new)
Red Dwarf
Lexx
Battlestar Galactica (newest version)
Lost
Stargate SG-1
Legend of the Seeker

Stargate d00d.
I've been meaning to watch Doctor Who, but I just don't have the time.

Closest I get is Adventure Time.

If you can find the time someday, I recommend it. I love the Tom Baker years (74-81) and the newer Doctors. I haven't seen the newest season though because we don't have BBC America.

I really liked Stargate SG-1, Atlantis was good, but I can't get into Universe.

Doctor Who, various Star Treks, Stargate, X-Files and V.

It's basically all I watch apart from the odd BBC documentary on iPlayer.

We were very big on X-Files and Lost. However, there seems to be a shortage of new and interesting sf/f shows on in America.

[Or maybe they're only on cable, which we mostly ignore.]

Might be interesting to set a new program in the imagined near future world of William Gibson.

I also enjoyed Lost. Now that it is over, there isn't anything I really watch on television.
I liked the original V mini-series, but I couldn't get into the actual series from the 80s. The new V started out strong, but they went a different direction than I wanted.

Or a Harry Potter TV show.

I liked Battlestar Galactica. I also liked Babylon 5. Kind of got into Deep Space 9 toward the end there. The newer Doctor Who shows have been really good. I guess that's it, really.

I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in the stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Council-er or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I can't agree with your methods of direct action;" who paternalistically feels he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by the myth of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait until a "more convenient season." -MLK Jr.

red dwarf was okay for some episodes but got annoying after watching more than about 2 in a row.

I'm kinda addicted to stargate series.

Other than that, can't think of any.

I like the British stuff. Star Cops was brilliant (but really hard to find) and UFO was very good.

In alphabetical order:
- Battlestar Galactica (the new one)
- Code Geass
- Darker Than Black
- Death Note
- Doctor Who
- Dollhouse
- Firefly
- Stargate SG-1 (I never really got into Atlantis, eh)

There's probably quite a few others that I've watched and loved, I just can't remember them off of the top of my head :/
