Green Day sucks.

I can't do it too.
we, unlike the bourgeoisie, have nothing to lose and therefore our expression will be the only honest one, our words will be the only challenging ones and our art will be the one revolutionary expression. We need new noise and new voices and new canvases to become something more than the last poets of a useless generation.

That's an opinion. It's neither true nor false.
What is true is that Christian and universal music has a message.

Christian Rock is anything but diverse. It sticks to two different formats that rely on incredibly familiar chord progressions and the most common of block chords.

Also, by listening to Christian Rock (admittedly, a nice genre, but an incredibly large niche), you're hardly "going against conformity". And if that's a main motivation for you to listen to that form of music, you need to seriously reconsider how you listen to music.

Right then... background for me I guess. Was raised on Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd, listened to rock all my life, moved over to metal in college, been to see six concerts in my life: Sam Roberts, Great Big Sea, Edguy, Hammerfall, Sonata Arctica and Blind Guardian - favourite of which was Blind Guardian, with Great Big Sea coming in second.

With that out of the way, five favourite songs:

- Battlefield - Blind Guardian
- All Hell For A Basement - Big Sugar
- What It Is - Mark Knopfler
- Immigrant Song - Led Zeppelin
- Ordinary Day - Great Big Sea

Honourable mention: Fiddler on the Green - Demons and Wizards

I know these songs have very little in common... ranging from power metal to folk rock but hey, I am a strange man :P

Christian music kinda sucks... good message? Love a man who lived 2000 years ago who's dead. I don't need my soul saved. Brainwashing at it's finest.

That's a pretty rude thing to say and it's rude to laugh at someone else's beliefs and make fun of them because you don't agree with them. Your comment made u look like an ass...

Actually I disagree. I don't like a lot of Christian music that just says the same thing over and over again, but I also like universal music like Kevin Max. Never have I once heard him use a common chord block.

Some of their songs are, but many of them are different. So Help Me God, What if I stumble, In the Light, Walls doesn't even really revolve around chords, care for more?

Oh sorry, excuse, I forgot to include progressions and scales in my post, my bad. Doesn't change anything, it's still incredibly generic and fits one of the two forms of Christian Rock.
