
I made this using the wonderful program Mudbox. It is just a head, and the coloring you see on it is experimental.

Especially with your textures. A normal map would really bring out the potential depth of the scratches and such in that render, and an advanced renderer like Vray would sex up the lighting a notch. Set yourself something difficult to do and go for it, is my advise. Not something *insanely* difficult to start with, like a humanoid... but you know, something challenging, then build your skills and portfolio by changing what you're doing. It may take weeks/months, but in the end you'll really be proud, and have progressed in your abilities too
