Friend of mine got addicted to it. Which is funny because he just about shit himself with anticipation for Civ 5 then played that for about a week before finding Minecraft.

This man is building an actual working computer in Minecraft.

Welcome to 1938.

I thought ten thousand swords must have leaped from their scabbards to avenge even a look that threatened her with insult. But the age of chivalry is gone. That of sophisters, economists, and calculators has succeeded; and the glory of Europe is extinguished for ever.

I prefer Dwarf Fortress. Not that Minecraft isn't an amazing game in it's own right.

Ah yes, analog computers are the wave of the sandbox games.

I know someone did something similar in Dwarf Fortress, and I think you can do this in Gmod too.

It's pretty epic, but I still prefer Dwarf Fortress. DF may not have the graphical power, but the gameplay depth is like, 100x that of Minecraft, and it's completely free. And the community even beat MC's to an ingame processing unit by about 20 months <_<

You should check out Powder Toy. I've seen people make working calculators, hard drives, and nuclear reactors in it.

I dicked around with that for a bit, it was neat.

Also relevant to ALU:

No. It's full of pointless, false choices so they can pad out the features list, and the core gameplay is significantly weaker as it's very two-dimensional.

I was just playing Minecraft, I had an iron pickaxe & sword, 15 units of redstone dust, and about 80 torches, and then I was killed by a skeleton in 1 while I was standing around doing nothing.
