To 1415?

And Crispin Crispian shall ne'er go by,
From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be remembered-
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he today that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition;
And gentlemen in England now-a-bed
Shall think themselves accurs'd they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap while any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin's day.
Make Earth Great Again: Stop Continental Drift!
And Jesus was a sailor when he walked upon the water ...

Saint Crispin's Day is October 25th and on it was fought the Battle of Agincourt, in which Henry V of England defeated the French. Almost two hundred years later Shakespeare used the phrase in the speech he gave the King before the battle.

Sorry for the threadjack. I do like the series, though I've never seen it straight through. As often as not I end catching the episodes I've already seen.

War is hell, isn't it?

Indeed.

You might find John Keegan's The Face of War interesting. He looks at Agincourt (1415), Waterloo (1815) and The Somme (1916), all fought in the same general area of northern France and Belgium.
