Avenged Sevenfold?

Postby Zirconim » Tue Sep 14, 2010 12:48 pm

A7X seems to get mixed reviews from just about everybody, so I want to know what NS thinks about them.

In the three short years since I dicovered them, they've skyrocketed to being one of my favorite bands. I like most of their work since 2005, most before that was shit, but I hate Metalcore anyways, so...

They've got some good stuff. I didn't like Sounding the Seventh Trumpet or City of Evil all that much, but everything else they've done has been pretty epic.

Saw them in Concert in 2009 with Pappa Roach and Buck Cherry when they were in Mankato. One of the most kickass nights of my life.

I like a handful of their songs, they are great, but I wouldn't call them one of my very favorite bands.

2000+ artist library of music disagrees.

Disliking a few mainstream acts=/=disliking most music.

Especially when its easy to understand why someone would dislike a certain band <_<

And I like Papa Roach and Buck Cherry even less...

I generally compare anything that's -core to Black Flag. And, quite frankly, it all pales in comparison.

Avenged Sevenfold is pretty good, they aren't the greatest but they have some good music.

Come to think of it... You can't really take a group that sounds like an angry wombat set to cheesy metal music too seriously, or else you'll turn into something sad (I'm looking at you, emo people).
