I just finished watching The Secret of Kells, an animated Irish film about The Book of Kells. This movie is just a masterpiece, a real work of art. This film truly represents the beauty of book it's based on. The visuals were some of the best I've ever seen. It really shows not only that animated movies can be just as good as live action but, also, better. There is no way this movie could have been even a fraction as good if not for the absolutely brilliant animation. This is undoubtedly the most beautiful movie I have ever seen. It makes me want to go all the way to Ireland just to see the real book. Really, a movie that makes an avowed atheist want to view a religious artifact must certainly be quite impressive. I recommend everyone see this wonderful and wondrous treasure of cinema.

This is exactly how the creator of this thread intended for us to discuss the movies. Rather than just naming the movie, he actually described the movie! This type of in-depth analysis is lacking throughout the vast majority of the rest of the posts within the thread, including mine. After reading his analysis of the movie, I am very intrigued, and I plan on watching this movie next Movie Night (instead of just watching "The Big Lebowski" for the 500,000th time.) I hope that we can all learn a bit from Olthar and become a little more thorough with our explanations.

I'll start.

The last movie that I watched was a documentary on North Korea called "Inside North Korea- with Lisa Ling." This is one of the best documentaries that I have seen. The documentary does a marvelous job of demonstrating the control that the North Korean government has over the people. In one instance, she [Lisa Ling] asked a Korean couple if Kim Jung Il had the capacity to make mistakes, they didn't understand the question. As an American, it is impossible to comprehend the oppression that occurs within this nation, and this video conveys the message in such a way that it is fairly easy to understand, and easy to follow. After watching the documentary, it was much easier to fathom the subjection under which these people live. If you would like to learn more on North Korea, or would simply like to enjoy a rather entertaining democracy (I admit, it kept me interested from start to finish,) then I would most certainly recommend this movie for you.

If you liked the Lisa Ling documentary in North Korea, you should really watch the Vice Guide to Travel episode in North Korea. I liked it much better! It has been a while since I saw it, but I remember Lisa Ling, and her crew, being too obvious about what they were doing. Both are worth watching, but I preferred the Vice Guide. You should also check out the Vice episode in Liberia.

Oh, and the last movie I saw was Black Snake Moan. It was alright. I don't like Justin Timberlake though.

Public Enemies. Meh...6/10. Dillinger(1973) with Warren Oates was better.

"They Call me Trinity"

It is a very cool movie, 10/10 for being a spaghetti-western.

"Tales from the Dead"

Not very good as Asian Horror goes... but a good collection of Average Ghost Stories all tied neatly together with another ghost story.

a good film to introduce people to the genre... but tame for anyone else.

The Eagle. You don't see enough movie like that one.
For the Angel of Death spread his wings on the blast,
And breathed in the face of the foe as he passed;
And the eyes of the sleepers waxed deadly and chill,
And their hearts but once heaved, and for ever grew still!
