For this Saturday:

Brighton Rock (1947), with Richard Attenborough.
Good movie overall, but there were a few plot aspects which I thought either needed to be fleshed out or were a bit of a stretch. Attenborough's acting was first-rate though.

His Kind of Woman (1951), with Robert Mitchum and Jane Russell.
Starts off as a regular noir thriller, then they throw in Vincent Price as comic relief. I absolutely loved it.

The Lady From Shanghai (1948), with Rita Hayworth and Orson Welles.
Another noir thriller. Half the characters are downright annoying, but the cinematography is fantastic.
"The Duke of Texas" is too formal for regular use. Just call me "Your Grace".

The Housemaid. A classic Korean thriller from 1960. Story is very much in Fatal Attraction territory, but imho, this is a much better movie. In fact, I'd say The Housemaid is the best "dude cheats on his wife and his mistress turns out to be a homicidal maniac" film I've ever seen. Many creepy shots and tense situations. There was a remake in 2010 where the roles are reversed: the mistress is the victim and the husband and wife are the ones doing the terrorizing. I'll be checking that one out soon.

I finished watching The Two Towers of the Lord of the Rings Trilogy, earlier today. I might watch Return of the King, ether later today, or tomorrow.

Can't wait for Battle of the Five Armies to come to DVD, that way I can watch all of them as a marathon.

Re-watch of Zombieland (g/f hadn't seen it) - still good fun, and the Bill Murray cameo is superb. Probably the second best zombie comedy film (after Shaun of the Dead)

Jaws 2

No doubt that it's inferior to the original, but i still like it. Brody is still a likeable character here, Two-Face is a great villain, and the climax is as cool as the original. 7/10.

Yeah for me the first two Jaw's movies are great, obviously the first is better but i still really like the second one. And that should have been the end of it, as the third one... *shudders with horror*

Say what you like about Jaws III, but it's a masterpiece compared to Jaws: The Revenge. The only good thing about that film is Michael Caine's response when asked about it:

I have never seen it, but by all accounts it is terrible. However, I have seen the house that it built, and it is terrific!

Land before time. The original, an artistic masterpiece. When I was younger I just saw the sequels on boomerang. Wow, was this film great.

I only have one question. Why was the hadrosaur called ducky if ducks don't exist yet?
