EEGAH!

Postby DizKneeLandRand » Wed Mar 16, 2011 8:04 pm

Last movie I watched was this horrid flick called Eegah!, which was about a caveman who has the hots for a rich girl and the girls boyfriend who is a wanna-be Fabian. It's famous for having Richard Kiel who was Jaws in the bond films:

Arch Hall Jr. played the serial killer looking BF.

Battle: Los Angeles

I was quite entertained. I really really enjoyed it, specially the combat scenes.

The Age of Innocence.

Yes, it's chick flick, but it was a good one. :p

Boogiepop and Others.

a prequel to the anime series Boogiepop Phantom.

Alot of students are dissapearing, some are found killed in gruesome manners. one student, takes it upon herself to get to the bottom of this. not knowing the corporations involved and the creature they unwittingly set loose.

if you're not familiar with the anime series, then the movie is rather dry and drawn out. however it does answer alot of questions that the anime doesn't touch upon... like the whole beginning fight scene they show...
on the other hand... I have another set of fingers.

I watched Monsters, and it was a p. good movie.

I give it 8.5 out of 10, with the only real thing missing is action.

The Incredibles and Hancock. Was feeling very "superhero"y while playing the f2p mmo, Champions Online, at the time and wanted to watch some superhero movies.

I really enjoyed the film. I've also been enjoying reading more about Hypatia of Alexandria, and all the discussion this movie has sparked.

This type of in-depth analysis is lacking throughout the vast majority of the rest of the posts within the thread, including mine. After reading his analysis of the movie, I am very intrigued, and I plan on watching this movie next Movie Night (instead of just watching "The Big Lebowski" for the 500,000th time.) I hope that we can all learn a bit from Olthar and become a little more thorough with our explanations.

I'll start.

The last movie that I watched was a documentary on North Korea called "Inside North Korea- with Lisa Ling." This is one of the best documentaries that I have seen. The documentary does a marvelous job of demonstrating the control that the North Korean government has over the people. In one instance, she [Lisa Ling] asked a Korean couple if Kim Jung Il had the capacity to make mistakes, they didn't understand the question. As an American, it is impossible to comprehend the oppression that occurs within this nation, and this video conveys the message in such a way that it is fairly easy to understand, and easy to follow. After watching the documentary, it was much easier to fathom the subjection under which these people live. If you would like to learn more on North Korea, or would simply like to enjoy a rather entertaining democracy (I admit, it kept me interested from start to finish,) then I would most certainly recommend this movie for you.

If you liked the Lisa Ling documentary in North Korea, you should really watch the Vice Guide to Travel episode in North Korea. I liked it much better! It has been a while since I saw it, but I remember Lisa Ling, and her crew, being too obvious about what they were doing. Both are worth watching, but I preferred the Vice Guide. You should also check out the Vice episode in Liberia.

I'll definitely check out the Vice Guide documentary. My Mac doesn't have the capability to play this video, so I'll have to watch it later.

I saw Paul & Lincoln Lawyer both yesterday.

Was bored :p

Lincoln Lawyer actually had a great story. Not worthy of an Oscar, but still a pretty good plot w/o being too much of a court room drama. I enjoyed it thoroughly, an interesting glimpse into the US criminal/legal justice system. Not bad acting either.

Paul was predictable and funny. A tad bit too long, but not really. It was cutesy and edgy at the same time, an interesting balance. Not precisely a kids movie as there is drug use and foul language in it. Seem to be aimed at college goers like me, prolly high schoolers too.
All in all, I still liked it. Twas a nice escape for a while...
