The Day After (1983) on youtube, pretty good but I think I like Threads (1984) better. They're both about nuclear attacks, on USA and England respectively.

Just watched Taken for the first time.
The fact that even *this* sorry excuse for a movie fell victim to 21st century "trilogy syndrome" is nauseating.
A waste is a terrible thing to mind.

My favorite film is from 1968, 2001: ASO, it's pretty old, yet when compared to any other film I have ever seen it totally is the best.

Yeah, my favorite movie, Jurassic Park, is from 1993 (that counts as old to me, anyway).
I'll be watching the LOTR trilogy this weekend (well, the 2nd movie)

The 90's aren't that old :p

Honestly, there can be a relatively new film (Even from the 2000's) and be dated and a film from the 40's and still be very relevant.

Insofar as the production process is concerned though, I'd make the case that films of the 1990's had more in common with the 40's than they do the 2010's.

Yeah, but I was in the 90's myself- lol then I'm old I guess.

Anyway, the sequel is unofficial- it is not Kubrick's work. But I do think that this "sequel" was made with the co-writer of 2001: ASO.

Toy Story 3 on Tuesday, after having watched Toy Story and Toy Story 2 on Saturday & Sunday respectively.

One of the best film trilogies ever made, if not the best.

A Japanese foreign film called 13 Assassins. Basically a revenge thriller set in the Edo Period, where samurai band together to assassinate a tyrannical clan leader. Also, holy shit so much blood everywhere. 8/10.

I have… seen things you people wouldn't believe… Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched c-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those… moments… will be lost in time, like tears… in… rain. Time… to die…
