I hate it when the show makers pretend that video-games never progressed beyond beeps and boops, or in any way get it blatantly wrong for no apparent reason. I still haven't forgiven House for pretending that Samus turning into a ball constitutes failure. There are perfectly valid and easy to find death animations that you could use, why do you insist on ruining your credibility?

In an episode of the Big Bang Theory they used the actual Super Mario 64 pause sound effect to indicate that a copy of Super Mario 64 was being paused, it was shocking because that never happens.

What TV shows do to annoy me:

Bad lighting: This is not supposed to be a play for radio, but many shows pretend it is as soon as an exciting situation happens...
Cliffhangers: riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiih
Laughtracks: They are just annoying. I KNOW when something is funny!
Bad science: If you do not spend 5 minutes to check your facts why do you expect me to spend 45 minutes watching your show?
Ads: so annoying
Any strong political slant: Get a soap box!
Product Placement: Yes, I know taht Americans are supposed to like Apple but that does not mean every freaking single system shown on TV has to be a Mac...
Pesky superficial drama: Seriously, dudes and gals, get a life!
Love: I fell in love twice in 28 years, why does it happen to TV characters all the fricking time‽

well...when i was still in elementary school, that show called pokemon would get on my nerves ALL THE FUCKING TIME!

I MEAN SERIOUSLY!!! HOW CAN THIS TINY-ASS WEAKLING OF A POKEMON BE EVENLY MATCHED WITH THIS TITAN!!! YOU COULD LITERALLY SAY THEY WOULD PUT A CATERPIE AGAINST A MEWTWO AND IT WOULD BE A HEATED UP BATTLE THAT CATERPIE ENDS UP WINNING!!! AND THEN THERE IS STUPID-ASS ASH KETCHUM!!!! HE IS THE BIGGEST N00B EVER!! AND YOU WOULD THINK THAT HIS PIKACHU WOULD BE LVL 100 BY NOW! BUT LOOK! ITS STILL LOSING ALL OVER THE PLACE TO A POKEMON THATS SUPPOSEDLY LEVEL 5!!! I hate it in dramatic shows when an actor leaves the show, so they decide to kill off the character, and try to wring all the mawkish, maudlin tragedy out of it they can. (NYPD Blue for example - I gave up on that one after they killed off Sipowicz's partner AND his wife in the same season. Too much!)

On a similar note, I hate it in sitcoms when the writers run out of ideas so they have the main female character get pregnant, usually sans husband. (Roz on Frasier, Murphy Brown, etc.) Oh, how cute, unwed motherhood! Of course they knew that would have stretched credulity a little too much with Ellen DeGeneres so they had her come out of the closet instead, but it's the same dynamic.

Nothing, I have this great invention some of you seem to be lacking called an opposable thumb that lets me change channels on surprise-surprise the TV remote. No more watching shows that annoy me/I don’t like. It’s a win-win-I get to watch things I like/enjoy which is why I’m watching that show in the first place and at the same time get the satisfaction of knowing that I’m contributing to the cancelation of a crappy show I don’t like due to low ratings. Though, to be fair sometimes I end up on the receiving end of having a show I like get canceled, such is life.

In summary, I watch TV to be entertained, not irritated and annoyed. That’s what these forums and you all are for. :p :roll:

Me too. At this point there's nobody left of the original cast except Harry and Malcolm. They either get killed or have to go into hiding. It's almost as bad as Kenny on South Park except he came back every week.

Partly to do with TV shows but also the channels: Credits squeeze. It seems that laying off in-vision continuity announcers for graphics that people (who had just finished watching their favourite programme) are not interested in may be a bad idea. Plus in-vision continuity announcers launched the careers of a lot of people: Ian Stirling and the others.
