Shows with an obvious uber-liberal slant. No, more government isn't always better. No, Rome wasn't sacked by the Christians. If Christianity really did kill Rome, Rome would have fallen a few centuries sooner.
Obvious Author Avatars. What's an author avatar? It's when the creator of the show creates a character that is obviously said creator in fictional form. The character shares the same views as the creator and is often depicted as "always right". A good, irritating example is Family Guy's Brian. Man, that dog is a douche.
Scrappies. A show's character line-up should be well-balanced. A Scrappy is any character that ruins the balance, often as an ill-fated attempt to boost ratings.
"All men are perverted idiots". This isn't a trope. It's a cliche used when they want a stupid and/or perverted character, but don't want to come off as 'sexist'. While female idiots are usually blonde, male idiots have every hair color of the rainbow, especially green.
male/female-on-male rape is funny and/or completely justified. Some of you remember the episode of Family Guy when Peter is "tricked" into abstinence. When Lois wants sex, but Peter doesn't, what happens? Lois rapes him and it's depicted as the right thing to do.
Cliff-hangers. A character is dangling from a cliff! Will he make it? No, I don't care about tampons. I want to see if the character makes it. Another tampon commercial. Look, if the first commercial didn't make me give a damn about tampons, a second one won't either.
Cliff-hanger ending. Like the cliff-hanger, but you have to wait either a week or half a year just to see what happens. It's even worse when the next episode starts out like nothing happened. One new episode ends with the character hanging from a cliff with a nuke ready to go off in the city. The next new episode starts out with said character talking to his buddies in a bar.
