Same here, I haven’t really seen the appeal of selling my collection. With now nearly 500 coins, I wouldn’t want to give them up, not even for cash in return.

When you have time you should count them.

I just started saving older coins. I like history, so it makes sense why I like coins. Well, that and my Grandpa.

I should really, yeah. I store my whole collection in two large plastic folders with 4x5 plastic sheets inside, each of which hold 20 coins. I haven’t counted how many folders I have in a while, but last time I checked it was around 490 coins in total. The other day I purchased rather a lot more though, so I’ll need to update that number soon.

Yeah, I have an interest in history myself, and sort of started in the same way. I bought a few older coins, then slowly began to accumulate more from antiques centres, markets, or just finding ones around the garden.

Antique shops are probably one of my favorite places to go in general! Before I drift off the topic of coins:

Wow, that’s awesome! I rarely find old coins outside of antique shops, but on the odd occasion I’ve picked one or two up in the garden.

I currently collect silver coins as part of the diversification of my savings. Gold ounce coins are so pricey nowadays, but I'd love to return to collecting them when the prices cool down. Either way, it's better than cryptocurrency, because cryptocurrency has nothing to back them (not even economic supply and demand as with modern currencies) and they can get hacked in so many ways. Gold and silver back themselves because they are needed for things like computer parts.

I have more gold than silver and bronze.

I don't have a dollar, I'm a Romanian, it's pretty hard to find that.

Also I got a 1966 Romanian leu, pretty hard to find here even though it's Romanian. A bonus when it's socialist (before 1990)

It would be amazing to own a golden dollar, but unfortunately I do not have one myself.

Well if I say biggest valued you will say the actual price of it, like $250,000

But I'm talking like the biggest value coin. Like how my 1000 leu coin is.

Yes, those. I picked up a number of Korean coins from antique shops and circulated change whilst in South Korea last year.

Perhaps. Certain coins have the potential to be rare as time goes on, whereas others are not. I myself collect modern ones as well for the same reason, so I wish you luck and hope they are worth more in the future!

I’ll be visiting Amsterdam for a few days for a break from work, so I’m hoping to find some coins there in local antique shops or markets.
