It's real bad for most hobbyists in Australia, last time I checked the prices for wargaming minis were insane.

It is honestly a better use of your money in Australia to buy into 3D printing and just do it yourself than pay the blood price GW demands to get your hands on models. Last I checked, so as to not appear overly biased, Infinity and whatever is going on with Warmachine these days are also charging you both your arm and your leg for figures.

I've heard 3D printed models are a pretty good substitute, the only downside being that you can't use them in any official tourneys, but depending on what you're buying them for that might not even matter.

In lieu of all the Pokémon threads being dead and mostly driven by my discontentment with the current state of the franchise, I've been diving into romhacks and fangames to satiate my desire for an actually good Pokémon games.

Found a few: Pokemon Unbound is a romhack of Fire Red and is legitimately fantastic with tons of feature, QoL improvements, and modern gameplay features (And you can play it on hacked Nintendo systems, romhack and all), Pokemon Realidea System is a fun real fun one that was basically made out of spite (The developer is a Spaniard and she did not like SV, so she decided she'd make a better Spanish region herself), and finally, Rejuvination which is made by the same team as Reborn, except they're no longer edgy 15 year olds who just learned coding so the game is 1000% less edgy and 4chan-y, so you can actually enjoy the gameplay and exploration now.

I'm playing Lords of Infinity by Paul Wang. I would get the other ones if I weren't so broke. Interactive novels can be interesting if done well, a dragging slop if poorly written. They're not all boring walls of text. Although I suppose that is completely subjective.

In other news, I uninstalled my legally-purchased Minecraft for a pirated one because my friends use an un-updated older version and it feels pretty pointless not playing it with multiplayer. Not that I don't support Mojang, just that the situation forced me to.

I don't think there's a Minecraft Launcher on mobile though. The purchase was on a whim, I bought it on discount in Google Play.

Stardew Valley playthrough has skyrocketed! I am currently in Week 1 of Fall, Year 1 of course. Things have been nice and smooth. <3

I am not above reading the Wiki, but I am not going to follow some guide to min-max something, or to maximize the efficiency and stuff. Just me and the little farm, and all that matters.

Going through the Stalker games again, this time on xbox for the first time in preparation for Stalker 2 coming out in November. Almost finished with Shadow of Chernobyl and it took a little while to get used to it on Console but its still as fun as i remember and a hell of a lot more stable lmao

My first time in the Quarry and it's Year 2 so... naturally there was a lot of accumulation. There's a crapton of ores.

343 Industries is now called Halo Studios and is moving over to unreal engine for future halo games as the company goes through some restructuring

The future of Halo is starting to come into focus. During Sunday's Halo World Championships, 343 Industries made a number of announcements, including that it will officially be changing its name to Halo Studios and that it's working on multiple new games. In addition, the newly-rebranded studio say that all future projects will be developed on Unreal Engine, leaving behind the Slipspace Engine utilized by Halo Infinite.

The announcements were unveiled in a seven-minute video shown ahead of the Halo World Championship's grand finals, which showcased the results of Project Foundry — an experimental project designed to show a Halo game built using the Unreal Engine. While it's not much more than a tech demo, it offers a glimpse at a fresh beginning for Xbox's flagship franchise in the wake of 2021's Halo Infinite.

It's a huge shift for the Halo series, not the least because of the resources poured into the Slipspace Engine over the course of its development. The studio formerly known as 343 Industries notoriously struggled with the Slipspace engine during Halo Infinite's development, in part because it used tools dating back to the early 2000s. Still, it was expected to serve as the foundation for the series after Halo Infinite.

“Respectfully, some components of Slipspace are almost 25 years old,” art director Chris Matthews said in an interview with Xbox Wire. “Although 343 were developing it continuously, there are aspects of Unreal that Epic has been developing for some time, which are unavailable to us in Slipspace – and would have taken huge amounts of time and resources to try and replicate."

An early 2023 report suggested that Halo's developers were ready to hit the reset button on the series after a heavy shakeup within the studio, including transitioning to the Unreal Engine. The report also said that Halo's developers were focusing on pitching new Halo games while prototyping ideas. Project Foundry appears to be the culmination of that effort.
